It was my first visit to Grumpy Soul and have been meaning to get down for some time now. Some fantastic records played throughout the night from some cracking DJs and collectors. Looking forward to returning in the future. Keep up the great work!

Nice review Lenny, and I really enjoyed our deep and meaningful conversation concerning the waring of tank tops with horizontal strips by men over the age of 40. I do hope you've remembered the fashion advice that I gave you that vertical strips are more sliming ! (Nina will be pleased :thumbup:)

A very enjoyable night had by all with even some of the more reserved punters getting hyperactive on liquorice swirls :wicked:

A lovely night again at Grumpys - After having a night out in good company, and hearing great 'thinking mans' tunes complimenting the 'greats' that we all still love, it gives me a good feeling, and today I don't mind being 'back down the pit' (metaphorically speaking)

I've always been interested in the history of the scenes' DJs, along with what they have 'bought to the party' (I think that important) Alas, I didn't know of George Sharp, but after hearing him play I feel I should (I'm sure he must have done it before)  He played some really nice stuff - Thanks.

If anyone can help 'name this tune'.........It was the first record George played (I think) / It sounded like this - "Whoa Whoa she's waiting bom bom bom bom, Whoa Whoa she's waiting..."........It was a 'stop start' Mid-tempo type number - I'm sure I have the damn record, but can't think for the life of me what it was! It may be 'the other side' to something more well known.

Anyway, thanks to all involved for the 'escapism' of a good night out.

All the best,

Len

Edit - Thanks Joan, the record was  'June Conquest - Almost Persuaded', I think that's what Phil said on the night (I forgot within a minute) Cheers

Always feel a little reticent putting a five star rating on an event I help run but for me it really is about everyone. Not just the ones who put the records on, but every single person in the room. So on that basis alone, five stars it most definitely is.

Fantastic turn out yet again which makes all the hard work worthwhile. From Wales to Scotland to down south, we really appreciate your continued support. Smiling, dancing, sweaty, mad as box of frogs (Gaz) faces everywhere, what more could you ask for! Thanks everyone for a great night.

See you on 2nd July for more of the same. 5th anniversary with Andy Rix

Where do I start. Simply Awesome. Sums it up. Just when I thought they couldn't top the last time. Guess what. They did. Every single DJ was at the top of their game it would be so unfair to single out anyone but im going to. Carl Fortnum. :hatsoff2::hatsoff2:his last set up till 3am was simply sublime. It had for me everything from beat ballads through to as rare as they come uptempo dancers and everything in between. Joan, Phil and everyone who was involved take a bow. :hatsoff2::hatsoff2:

Please don't let me be working on the 2nd July. When the legendary Andy Rix returns. Missed him last year.

Steve

Van full of kit beckons so short n sweet ...

Thanks so much to everyone who turned out again last night; loads on elsewhere but we had a great, up-for-it crowd in as usual which makes all the effort absolutely worthwhile!

Special thanks to our guest George Sharp; brilliant to see him behind the decks again doing what he always has done: playing great records and not just the same old same old

Next one is our 5th Anniversary on Sat 2nd July which sees the return of that Andy Rix fella alongside us four numpties. Promises to be an absolute belter; I'd get there nice n early...

Cheers

Phil
