About The Event

Andy turns 60 on the 7th of January, he also formally retires from work on that day. Please join us to celebrate these two noteworthy events.

Andy has asked Ricky Warburton, Ronnie Hanley, Ray North and Carl and Maria Willingham to do guest DJspots on the night. So we are all in for a real treat

So if you are one of our regulars, know Andy please come down and join the party.

The fun starts at 8pm until 2am - very cheap bar prices and a good wooden dancfloor.

Our normal nights are the last Saturday of the month - check them out here on soul source

The Carlton Club is on Bury Old Road on the main route from Manchester to Prestwich, (135 Bus Service) and just 5 minutes walk from Heaton Park Metrolink Station

Hi All,

well what can I say, probably our best night yet thanks to all of Andy's friends.

I know it was freemans on the door but I don't think it would have mattered.

In the end it was standing room only and the bar was chocker but we will look at room layout for next time, try and get a few more seats into this compact little venue, (but we don't want to intrude too much into the dancefloor).

I was glad to have a night off but my bad back and a neckful of painkillers stopped me lifting anything heavier than a pint pot lol,

(I did a lot of pot collecting we were that busy). I did have a couple of dances (due to too mutch Dutch courage).

Sorry for the delays at the bar but all hail Denise our barmaid, what a woman, she took it all in her stride (with a little help),

I don't know how she puts up with us every month.

Big thanks to Linda, for pitching in behind the bar, you were almost professional.

The DJ's,

after a gentle warm up from our Vance for the first hour or so we were then treated to an extended and exemplary set by Ray North,

great to see him and Denise after quite a while,(I love my Yorkshire Puddin's lol).

Next up our old pals Carl and Maria entertained us with a classic mix of popular and rare tunes to keep everyone happy.

Wigan survivor Ronnie Hanley was up next, one of my long time muckers big up to Little Ronnie who kept the dancefloor busy,

as is his want, what a guy.

Andy Reedy remained sober enough to put in a spot with some had-hoc assistance from our mate Gibby (Yorkshire Puddin' wi' gravy, slick as ever) and Linda, almost fresh off the bar, stuck her oar in and played a few belters'

Great to see our regulars, the Prestwich Crew and the Failsworth Posse fill their usual seats and the dancefloor,

specially Steve "Wilf" Williams, well known on the scene, great to see he can still cut the mustard the dancefloor.

Thanks to our travelling regulars for making it, specially Notts Lynne, good to see you again, see you next month.

Must mention it was great to see Denis Black and his Mrs up from Audenshaw, Brent Howarth good to see you again, been a while and how young Ethan has grown, he pulled some great moves, wish I still could, I defer to "Wilf" tho', he's still got it.

Matchy you're a star. How the hell did you hold a conversation with Big Brent, your neck must have been killing you lol.

A few new faces who attended went away well happy too so hopefully they'll be back.

Live long and prosper Andy, you are a belting mate, great to have shared this night with you.

As for all our supporters, last Saturday of every month. DON'T FORGET.

On behalf of Andy and the rest of us, we would like to thank you all for coming down to what was a brilliant night. It was great to see all our regulars who we thank for their continued support. It was also great to see some old friends we have no seen for a while. A massive thanks to the guest DJ's. Ricky unfortunately couldn't make it but the spots by Ray, Ronnie and Carl and Maria were all first class offering something for everyone

Thank you all for your patience with the bar. We did let the club know it would be busy so it was all hands to the pump (pardon the pun) hence Linda serving pints.

Don't be put off by this, with last orders at 1pm there is plenty of time to enjoy the very cheap drinks

It would be great to see you all again, we pride ourselves in playing music for YOU.

Last Saturday of the month as always.

KTF Vance

What a great night with some of the friendliest hosts on the scene, top music all night with a good mix of all genres a couple of spots mostly tried and tested but given the occasion understandable still more than enough that were new to my ears . Linda proving not only is she a cracking Dj but she can pull a decent pint too when required.
