Eggborough Soul Club

An absolutely fantastic night at Eggborough on Saturday night. Both rooms were just about at capacity and another couple of dozen people attending and the room full notices would have had to be put up.

Musically it was excellent in both rooms. Karen aka Betty Bump, played the best set of northern I have ever heard from her and you could feel the atmosphere she generated within the room. Ron Waring carried on as second guest from where Karen left off. Playing a great mix of northern both well know with a few not so popular, he kept the floor full. Before in between and finishing off was Richard Cryer, our resident, who never fails to please all. His choice of northern dance tunes is exceptional as it is varied with the emphasis on always playing an acceptable mix to please all.

The soul room was well served with Steve Womble and Neil Rushton playing some excellent tunes and again generating almost a party atmosphere in room. Ably supported by Shaun Cottle the soul room was bouncing from start to finish.

I have said before that Eggborough is in the top five soul clubs in the north and last night did nothing but confirm that belief.

A full house as per, travellers from all over distance no problem. Great sets by all the DJ's, a must in the calendar for everyone, a venue for the dancers and a floor to match.
