About The Event

Our 7th anniversary event in February was an absolute smash, with a fantastic turnout and brilliant atmosphere all night. We now turn our attention to March 18th, and a special charity event featuring five of the area’s top female DJs. We are turning the whole evening over to Little Av, Sue Stutting, Pat Bleasdale, Debbie ‘T’ and Susan Spiby-Wade, and all proceeds will be divided amongst three charities: The Jack Kitching Appeal, Heidi’s Heart Appeal (not yet registered) and Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

The Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is a name we are all familiar with, as is the Jack Kitching Appeal. We have raised funds for both these in the past. Heidi’s Heart Appeal is a local initiative by the parents of an otherwise perfectly healthy little girl who has a heart condition whereby she could go into cardiac arrest at any time. She attends a primary school in Dronfield, and they want to raise enough money to buy a portable defibrillator, which would be there to help any child with this condition. It is part of a national drive to have such facilities available in all schools, but for which there is no central funding.

As well as contributing door revenue, we will also be holding a raffle. Would anyone who has anything they would like to donate to this please bring it along on the night. We want to raise as much as we possibly can to help these three very worthwhile causes.

As usual, we kick off around 8.00pm and finish around 12.30am. Entrance on the door is a minimum of £3. Hope we'll see you there.

Hi all, just a few words about our next Horti’s special charity night on the 18th. We will have 30 CDs for sale, each containing 4 tracks selected by each of our 5 DJs. These collectors’ items will be priced at £3 each, though you may, of course, donate more if you wish.
We will have a good selection of items to be raffled in the usual manner, plus a few auction items. So as not to interrupt the flow of the music, this auction will not be conducted from the stage. Instead these will be set out, each with an accompanying sheet, on which anyone interested may write their name and offer. The highest offer, by around, say, 11.30, will pick up that item. So as to maximize our takings, some items may carry a reserve price.
Entry on the night will be the usual £3, but, again, if anyone wants to donate more, we won’t be complaining. Remember, every penny we raise will go into the pot, to be divided amongst our three selected charities. In advance, thank you all very much.

Morning all, not too many thick heads out there I hope :-) What an absolute blinder at the Horti last night. Firstly, thank you to our famous five femmes fatales for their brilliant sets. From Susan's first to Sue to Debbie to Pat to Av's last it was quality all the way, and then some. Secondly many thanks to Helen, Linda, Audrey and Jean for their help with the raffle, and, of course, to everyone who provided raffle and auction items. The biggest thanks, though, must go to everyone who turned up, bought tickets, bid on the auction and generally contributed to a massive total collected on the night of £693. That's a stunning amount of money. Our gratitude goes out to every single one of you. That cash will be divided three ways for our charities, so that's £231 each to Jack Kitching, Heidi's Heart and Bluebell Wood. Fantastic!!!
