Twisted Wheel - Keep the Faith !

We travel over form Halifax for our regular slice of the Twisted Wheel and find the smaller second rooms across the board music and up-tempo beat more to our liking (could I dare to say that it attracts a slightly younger crowd onto the floor) !

Some tracks I have heard recently played in the second room by Ginger, John and Jock have included classic up-tempo greats from Cliff Nobles the Young Brothers and Maurice Williams !!

Now where else can you hear these classics other than the Twisted Wheel ?

Pete, please do not change the great format !!!

Good evening and thank you, for a Fantastic day at the Twisted Wheel Club on Sunday - It was great as always.

A Big thanks to our guest DJ Stoke-on-Trent's finest OZZ and John & Jock who did the business on the 1210's.

Hello to Mr. John Murphy thanks for your review on the Club! Next time you come to the Wheel please say hello, and to answer to your question why have 2 Rooms? - Well I couldn't agree with you more, there's NO better music then 60's Wheel music! ... But it's what some people want!

So we play 'Twisted Wheel' back catalogue records in The Main Room and in Room Two, we have an across the board policy ie:- The DJs have a free hand in what to play - an Eclectic Mix of their choice be it "Northern Soul, 60's Mod, RnB, Ska, Rare & Motown etc"

That must be right because both Ginger Taylor & Richard Searling  love playing 45's in that room ...

Your are right - The Wheel was FANTASTIC on Sunday - It always is!

What I find laughable is the very jealous people who call it, who have never been, and the others who have been refused entry by the doormen for the things that they have done!...

And they keep pouring poison in!

And it still doesn't work.

ORIGINAL BASEMENT CLUBS:-

This famous Club that you keep going on about?

It has been closed more then it's been open and I wonder how long it will last this time?

And something that you don't know - THE OWNERS OFFERED IT TO ME FIRST!...

So if that's a dig at me ...

I have hosted THE most FAMOUS and ICONIC BASEMENT CLUB for 12 years

THE TWISTED WHEEL CLUB AT 6.WHITWORTH STREET MANCHESTER

And I would still be there now, if it hadn't been demolished  ....

And everybody knows it.

PS.

Thanks to HXTFC1 and John Murphy for your reviews on "The Twisted Wheel Club"

I just wish that more of the 100's that attend the Wheel would put comments on soul-source!

But I'm assured that there are 100's of Photo's and great comments on facebook and other sites after every Wheel session.

Genuine comments!

Not comments from the DJs  themselves bumping up their own events every 2 minutes.

And I am NOT on facebook!

I first went to the Wheel in 1965 and never missed a Saturday for nearly five years. I returned to the latest version yesterday and I was blown away! It was FANTASTIC. I would think that 50% of the people there had never been to, or heard of, a soul event before 2010 but there was a general feeling of everyone enjoying themselves and trying to join in the fun, whilst trying to do that strange kind of dancing the soul people do! I will be back on Sunday it will become a regular thing from now on. One moan! Why two rooms, with one full and one virtually empty, Why not play the main room music in both rooms? To quote a phrase " it will never be over for me" KTF
