Soul Blues

Thanks to everybody who came out for our first night in March at this great little venue and the kind comments on here about it afterwards. Next weekend the 27th May we're doing it again. Not a northern night as such although they'll be a few bits amongst the playlist -there being already 2 great and well established monthly Northern nights in Ramsbottom every month. Our night is intended to compliment those with a mixture of 50'/60's R&b, blues and club soul. Some slowies as well as foot tappers. Last months playlist included Don Covay, Little Walter, Bo Diddley, Etta James, Benny Spellman, Irma Thomas, Richard Berry, 5 Royales, Betty Lavette etc.

Great little intimate venue, real ale, FREE admission and this month enriched by a spot from Burys Mr R&B himself ... Grutch !.

Thanks to everybody for turning out for our second night at the Doghouse and their kind comments at the end. Over 60 in a venue that's only meant to hold 60 is pretty good. Sounds were as eclectic as last time - from Professor Longhair to Major Lance and 5 Royales records other than Catch that Teardrop.  Thanks to Grutch for his great spot containing his usual selection of "take no prisoners" R&B. Looking at another Friday in a couple of months - watch this space
