A busy Bank holiday weekend for us, but this event was "marked up" on the calendar for months in advance with eager anticipation. As soon as Chris told me New Century had secured Bury Town Hall for it future all-nighters I knew it would be the perfect venue.

I don't get out into Lancashire often enough, so it was fantastic to hook up with people I only chant with via the Internet. The main room has a fantastic feel to it, just the right size, with the added bonus of the balcony to the Record Bar / refreshment area upstairs. Nice to see John Philips spinning a few tunes, always good to see him back in the UK, Andy Dyson followed on keeping the dance floor full. However the earlier spot by Mick "Coops" Cooper was a gem, featuring many Cleethorpes records that don't get airtime often enough!

The rare room was chock a block, superb sounds every time we were in there and Shifty was on top form said hello to so many old mates too, fantastic !

The third room, loosely called modern, featured several DJs in the mix, heavy beat house seemed to be the order of the day, with a smattering of Latin Jazz grooves, not really my bag, but it was busy with an appreciative crowd in there and a nice sized room.

Great Venue, Great professional promotion with attention to detail.

We will be back !

Welcome back New Century Soul. :thumbup:Over 300 people from as far apart as Scotland, Norfolk. The West Country. Wales and everywhere in between is a testament to the anticipation that awaited the return of the legendary nighters. And I don't think people where disappointed, not from everyone that I spoke with. And that was a lot, believe me  Spent time in all three music rooms, record bar and surprise, surprise the foyer/ outside area. From a personal perspective the move from Radcliffe should have happened a few year's ago. Bury town hall is the perfect venue size wise, large enough to cope but small enough to create a intimate atmosphere. Thanks to everyone who was involved for making last night possible :hatsoff2::hatsoff2:
