Motown Magic Northern Soul The Emporium Coalville

I didnt bother going as the Old Grand Ballroom / Tiffs was ruined years ago with the advent of rave etc. The owners would be better to rip out the podiums and steps as times have come full circle music wise. This place is one of many that could be returned to there former GLORY.

Sorry to say I  was very disappointed with the venue , the line up of DJ`s was awesome, but the condition of the dance floors and size of the Northern room left me feeling deflated to say the least and also sorry for anybody else who had traveled any distance to be there,don`t think I`ll be returning.

Unfortunately, I'm forced to give it 1 star - zero would have been better.

We all paid our £5 to find ourselves in the worst Northern room ever.  Postage stamp dance floor with knackered old floor boards - piles of talc would not make any difference.  Neon nightmare.  Smelt like a damp old derelict building.  Expensive drinks.  The DJ doing his best - tunes wise. We left after less than an hour.

As a local, I would love Coalville to have another soul night - but this is not it.  An absolute rip-off. The promoter needs to stop and think. Another "Motown night" money making venture, clearly.

Stick to the proper soul nights people - Ibstock, Willington, Hinckley, Quorn, Long Eaton... all far more deserving of your support than this!
