Northern Soul At The Corner House

Good day and a great old crowd in quite of few local very Knowledgeable Northern returnees in attendance, who mentioned it's great to hear some oldies that was once played regularly but have gone of the radar,ironic it's near the legendary old Eight Bells & The Swan.The venue is great and up to yet the music has been good.Keep your music policy mainly Northern Soul though, otherwise it will become another Handbag day/night imo.

What a great afternoon a suberb turnout in a nice bar thats bigger than you think.Plenty of old faces and charactors that have graced the Mansfield Soul Scene over the years and a great turnout from the Shirebrook crew and supporters who run the Staff out there.

Music was varied, djs trying to keep everyone happy with a mixture of old favs and a few lesser known things dance floor busy most of the day a few naff requests from a few folk which is expected as it was billed as a Northern Soul Event so thats what was mainly played with a few Motown Favs dropped in for good measure,so well done To Damian & Steve for there hard work and the Djs and crowd for a great afternoon in a Town thats always had a good following of soul music.

Had a great time, only went down for a couple of hours, but ended up stopping all afternoon. Some faces I've not seen since the mid seventies. I spent most of the afternoon with Phil Kingswood and Derek Banner.

Absolutely superb! Great catching up with lots of old friends, especially Dave Kettle. We've not seen each other for about 40 years. Great sounds played & a fantastic turnout & atmosphere. I'd highly recommend other old Mansfield/Notts Soulies attending the next one on Aug 28th.

Great crowd, nice to catch up with a few folk i haven't seen for years, a good day out.

What a superb day we had at our second Corner House Alldayer.

The atmosphere was electric for the duration thanks to the excellent sets played by all our djs and thanks to a great crowd in attendance.

Can't wait until our next one on August 28th.
