This is the 4th All- Dayer at Leeds Carnegie Stadium and to say there was much trepidation about the turn for this event would be an understatement . But much to everybody's delight the supporters of Charity Soul and general soul loving public of Leeds and beyond did not let us down. The main room was an absolute joy with fantastic spot's by every dj but it would be remiss of me if I didn't mention Fred Benson, Ron Lavender and Mopsey's spots, an absolute delight. The craic within the Main Room was fist rate and I would like to publicly thank all the people who bought bundles of raffle tickets, wish you all could be a winner, but in reality  you are as your contributions go along way to helping cancer research. I wasn't able to visit the other rooms, work commitments (lol), but I'm reliably informed they also had a good turn out. Again a big thanks to Scotty D who stepped in at the last moment and from what I'm lead to believe did a fantastic One and Half hours. Not able to give an amount raised on the night but will post when the final total is checked. Looking forward to 2017 at Headingley where we are going to promote Northern and Motown events which will blow your mind. Stay tuned

Well what a way to go out with the Roots Room as part of Charity Soul, we even managed to accrue some healthy numbers through the night although it was a bit slow to start with, but then again what can you expect with a 4pm start. Many thanks to Eddie Wainwright, . MJ ParryRich BuckleyStuart Wilkinson, Andy Bellwood, Jason ChinnianDaniel Guest and to everyone who came and danced the night away. Something I wanted to do was go out on a high and thats what we did, once again many thanks and hope to see you all at a venue very soon.

A very big thanks to Andy Bellwood as without his help I wouldn't have been able to achieve my ambition in creating what I believe was one of the best Mod events in the North.

However, as Andy has indicated a new partnership has been formed with Myself, Jason Chinnian and Andy Srs Yorkie to create Deccadence Promotions which will be promoting 2 venues next year.

Dekka's Roots Room

A most fitting final 'Dekka's Roots Room' me thinks - going out in style with music to suit at the home of Yorkshire Rugby Union , Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire County Cricket - what a setting with the Roots Room one of four, upmarket/plush and overlooking those magnificent sporting arenas - part of the Charity Soul alldayer extravaganza raising money to directly fund Professor Maitland's ground breaking research for a cancer cure at his lab at York Uni.

As with all Dekka's Roots Rooms the music ethos was true to the cause embracing the wide spectrum of 'mod' - British (and French) Beat , Latin, jazz , 5ts & 6ts RnB , popcorn , early reggae,  a touch of northern , 6ts soul etc all on ovo.
It may raise a few eyebrows but the music came first,  the Roots Room wasn't primally about where your mates went to socialise  and drink prices, reciprocal DJ 'arrangements ' or the expectations from some of only wanting to hear well known northern/6ts RnB sounds so with that, massive thanks to Dekka who devoted 2 1/2 years planning , promoting , hosting and spinning the discs at what proved to be , a unique take on 'mod' so much so that was the only remit to the invited guests - 'your choice.....your collection....the music associated with you ... no boundaries ....ovo...' hence the fabulous guests from far and wide with their incredible wide ranging selection of tunes unlikely to heard anyway else ....
Some were packed , some almost empty but unable to fathom why - certainly no conflicting type of event ....so to rewind , out on on high with an appreciative crowd and another selection of top notch guests , take a bow Mik Parry , Eddie Wainwright , Rich Buckley , Stuart Wilkinson and the Flipside Boys .
As to the future ...Dekka will be spinning the tunes as the resident/tour DJ for mod band 5:15s so watch out for dates incl. I understand,   at the new Harrogate and York Beat clubs in 2017.
