The Venue, The Head of Steam in Beautiful Historic Durham City centre is a gold mine for those who, just like their music, have fine taste in beers, lagers, craft beers and ciders from around the world aswell as the best in locally brewed beers. It really doesn't get any better than this, great Soul and great Beer, OH, and great food aswell. We will be occupying the function room situated above the pub (with bar) which has a balcony overlooking the characteristic courtyard.

We are restricted to a capacity of 125 soul lovers, therefore we have decided to administer a ticket entry policy. Tickets for this 10 hour Soul Session will be only £5 and collected on arrival. We request that you reserve your ticket and pay via paypal k.cane@sky.com. To reserve your ticket please PM Kev Cane on Soul source, we must stress that it is STRICTLY 125 ONLY, once it's sold it's sold. Our good friend Dave Hancock (north east soul events) will be posting this event on Facebook aswell

We would like to stress also that this is NOT A NORTHERN SOUL EVENT

Don't miss out, reserve your ticket NOW

Please could you paypal ticket money to me k.cane@sky.com and I will cross you from the list, but please PM me to let me know

This will save a hell of a lot of hassle on the day

Obviously, if you don't have paypal, then pay on arrival

Many Thanks

Kev, Pete and Gaz

In a nutshell what we are striving to achieve Daz, also the raw Sweetsoul sound that the Cali collectors are digging is now starting to influence collectors over here via there regular radio shows we can now access (Gangster Dedications, Sounds of Soul and Santana oldies show), these sounds, alongside the Deep soul and soulful down-tempo badly need playing out. Oh, and btw, flattery will get you everywhere:thumbup:

Unfortunately due to an accident Jakob Iller has had to withdraw from our event, we wish him well in his recovery from the injury he has sustained and a speedy return to full fitness.

Thankfully, Steve Scotney has stepped in to to replace Jakob, as many people know on SS Steve is a prolific collector of Sweet and Group soul and will more than fit the criteria that the day desires. Just a few tickets left, come and join us, unique, no sell out, no compromise, the best in rare Sweet, Deep and mid-tempo soul

It was a late decision to go but i'm glad I did, the music played by the residents and the two guests Steve Scotney and Chris Huggins was amazing, loads of tunes new to me , nice friendly crowd in a great little upstairs venue.

Well done Kev, Pete and Gaz ... you've got a little cracker here and I hope it continues, i'll definitely be at the next one .

A really nice surprise it was to see you and talk a while Willie, fantastic enthusiasm you have for this kind of thing,I remember your set and our conversation in Doncaster. The main reason we decided to go ahead with Sweet, Deep and Soulful is, we know there are a lot of people out there who are listening to and collecting this kind of music and probably have been for a while, I know I have been doing CD swaps with the Likes of our 2 guests on the day Steve Scotney and Chris Huggins for a few years now and was blown away by some of the stuff they had, (see playlists in playlist section) as I have stated before, its time this kind of soul music was showcased and cherished, big shout to yourself, Tony Day, Chris and Andy Etheridge, Steve, John, Pete, Mick and Mo who travelled a long way to be with us and all the local stalwarts who made it a cracking day and night, we had a blast, will be getting around the table with Gaz and Pete to arrange the next one
