About The Event

Here Come the Girls!

We've been struggling to think how we could match last month's wonderful The State We're In special with Stuart Cosgrove talking about his new book, Young Soul Rebels, and playing a storming set of rare soul from his personal collection.  The Pack & Carriage was packed and we danced into the small hours.

So, this month we are going for another TSWI first with an all female line up of DJs playing a mix of highly danceable sixties Soul, Motown, RnB and just a pinch of funk.

Our TSWI regulars Les Petits Feet and Andrea will be joined by two special guests, Lucienne Cole from the ever-popular Crawdaddy! and Claire "Shoes" Russell, a regular at Soul nights up and down the country with her special mix of Soul, Rn'B and Popcorn.

Join us at the Pack & Carriage on July 29th.

People say the nicest things about TSWI (and we don't even pay them)

"I can vouch for the good vibe at this night. Nice people and great music." Andy Lewis (DJ, Paul Weller bass player, producer)

"Cracking night at @DiversionClub" Twitter feedback April 2016

"Well worth a visit people! Great mix of tunes including some top Motown...nice to hear #ktf"  Twitter feedback March 2016

Been going to this for a while now; since the demise of Solid Hit Soul.  And have to say it's just getting better and better.   It's a strange venue; it's literally just a pub, where they push back the tables to create a dancefloor.  But I guess that's part of the attraction; it's got no glamour whatsoever, and it's definitely not pretentious. But what it has got is an up for it and appreciative clientele.  Oh, and an excellent selection of craft beer at normal pub prices helps too

Absolutely baking in their last night - it was like getting off an airplane in Singapore.  So flip flops and shorts required next time
