The mighty Ozz Osbourne is the next DJ on June 11th, another world class DJ who always keeps us entertained.

We are so lucky to attract folks like this and I know they absolutely love the unique Wheel atmosphere. A Massive welcome to all,

We cant thank Pete Roberts Jackie, John, Jock and the wonderful Alter Ego staff for keeping the Twisted Wheel Club going, and against all the odds its as strong as ever.

It's a Manchester, cellar to cellar movement, and if we all lose a venue we move to another cellar, no one can destroy that atmosphere of the in crowd, old and new, enjoying their music together. The Sunday sessions with Pete Jock and John and the guest DJs banging em out. For me and many, its a new experience every time we descend into the legendary soul cellar xxx

Here is the abbreviated history of this great club from the OFFICIAL Twisted Wheel Web site:-

The ‘Wheel’ started in Brazennose St in 1963 moving to 6 Whitworth St 18 months later.
Closed in 1971 and then opened as Placemate and then Legends, it was on Thursday 6th July 2000 that Pete Roberts realized his dream of playing records downstairs in the Stageroom, famous for live performances by great artists the likes of Ben E King, Jr. Walker, Jimmy Ruffin, Edwin Starr and many more.
Following the sale of the premises, demolition was inevitable and the last event took place on Sunday 30th December 2012 with over 1000 soul fans bidding farewell to the iconic soul club.
For 6 months, the ‘Wheel’ relocated to NQ LIVE on Tib St in the Northern Quarter. Following a devastating fire on 13 July 2013 in which Stephen Hunt, a firefighter, tragically lost his life, the ‘Wheel’ has relocated to ALTER EGO at 105-107 Princess St, Manchester, M1 6DD.

Alter Ego has 2 rooms with separate sound systems (Wheel Classics in room 1 and across the board in room 2) with air conditioning and is perfectly suited to continue the iconic Twisted Wheel. In fact, there are bare brick arches throughout the club giving it the atmosphere that 6 Whitworth St was famous for.
Having the same music policy of classic 60’s soul and R&B, we have ‘SUNDAY SOUL SESSIONS’ on the 2nd SUNDAY and LAST SUNDAY of every month, recreating those storming times at the Whitworth St club.
