The Crescent Beat Club York

Hi Folks,

Please not that this event is simply taking over from the successful event run by Paul Dickinson for the last few years. We are privileged to get the chance to take it on and keep it going.

As Jay Cee has said, we wanted to take the club forward but before we did anything we approached Paul to get his approval and his blessing, so many thanks to Paul and hopefully we can get him to guest Dj for us in the future.

As I said we want to take the club forward so as to encompass not just the traditonal Northern Soul but also the Mod/RnB and Rocksteady scenes. We have therefore decided to run a Rocksteady room in the Bar area which will be stewarded by Andy Yorkie and his SRS sound system. The concert room will be a blend of traditional Soul and Mod/RnB style sounds brought to you by Jay Cee and Dekka and ably supported by guest DJ's of the highest calibre playing records on original vinyl.

This Boxing day event is our inaugural event which will stay traditional but will introduce sounds which will indicate the music direction of the club as to how we wish to take it.

Further events at the Crescent 'Beat CluB'  are planned throughout the year with dates and DJ's yet to be confirmed.

Hope everyone can get behind us to create something special and keep this wonderful venue alive
