Raym 93 Posted September 19, 2017 (edited) Fri 6th October 2017 - CALIENTE (Peterborough) PE1 4YL - Free entry Now into our 9th year at the same venue here in Peterborough - how time flies! We are pleased to offer this night again as FREE entry, so if you are reading this and haven’t been to 'Caliente' before then do come along and check it out - what have you got to loose!? - all we ask is that you come with open ears and an open mind – we are not playing top 500 all night - although you will hear a good number of ‘sensible quality oldies' throughout the night. This time we have resident DJ’s Carl Fortnum and Mick Beeby - who is now by increasing popular demand playing some quality tunes later on as the night unfolds plus Russ and I. No Steve Jay tonight as he's away on holiday. Russ and I have great pleasure to announce that our very special guest for this month is Dave Forrest who runs Peterborough's 'Sole 'Ole'. Dave has been a regular supporter over the years at Caliente, yet it is his first time behind the decks. Looking forward to hearing what Dave has for us. We hope a good number of the Peterborough faithful will support Dave as they did at the last 'Right Track'. Dave is booked to be on 10pm til 11pm so don't miss it. Russ and I usually kick the night off to warm things up from about 7pm for the first hour with a few new purchases/trades (which are in the main - 6t’s R&B plus some forgotten Northern) before we hand over to the guys playing right across the board. I also suspect there are a couple of birthdays being celebrated so expect some cake! Music policy: - we will all be playing a quality mix of Northern Soul from the 60’s through the 70’s/80’s and beyond, 6ts Soul + R&B, Crossover etc. - these will all be QUALITY tunes all played off ORIGINAL VINYL.
