About The Event

A brand new, forward looking, regular Northern Soul night will be starting in January 2017 in at the Masonic Hall, Dukinfield, Greater Manchester.  The first event will be held on Friday 20th January.

The event is being co-promoted by Brian Lester and Chris Churm and for those of you who remember the fantastic nights run buy these guys at Hyde United and Hyde Botanical Club in the 1990s you’ll recognise the pedigree of those behind the night.

The music policy is straightforward: quality sounds, original vinyl only and a focus on playing more than just the Top 500 that seem to be the mainstay of so many Soul Nights these days.  The night doesn’t profess to be just ultra-rare, but you can expect to hear some 45s that you won’t always hear played out and all of them are guaranteed OVO!

Chris Penn (The Birchfield, Widnes and now The Northern Line, Warrington) and Dave ‘Silky’ Hargreaves (Rat Pit, Stockport) will be regular supporting DJs alongside resident spinners Brian Lester and Chris Churm.  Guest DJs will be announced in the near future.

The venue is almost custom-made for a Northern Night with a quality, large wooden dance floor, seating around the dance floor and a great lounge bar for those who need to chill-out and catch their breath.  There’s also ample car parking with the entrance being just 20 yards from the venue.

The address is Dukinfield Masonic Hall, 62 Old Road, Dukinfield, SK16 4EN

Every effort has been made to avoid clashing with established local events and to be as accommodating and considerate as possible Brian and Chris have booked a selection of both Friday and Saturday nights.  These are:

Friday 20th January (3rd Friday of the month)

Friday 17th February (3rd Friday of the month)

Friday 17th March (3rd Friday of the month)

Saturday 15th April (3rd Saturday of the month)

Saturday 20th May (3rd Saturday of the month)

Friday 16th June (3rd Friday of the month)

Friday 14th July (2nd Friday of the month)

Saturday 19th August (3rd Saturday of the month)

Saturday 23rd September (4th Saturday of the month)

Friday 20th October (3rd Friday of the month)

Friday 17th November (3rd Friday of the month)

Saturday 16th December (3rd Saturday of the month)

We do hope that you’ll lend your support to what, will hopefully, be something a little more than the same old, same old!

Chris Penn

(on behalf of Brian Lester and Chris Churm)

Looking forward to this night, looks a good venue, which is half the battle and I know the music is going to be good

Good to see the avoidance of clashing with other nights, well done, if only others used such common sense

Is this you Mike?

If so (and you were referring to me, rather than Chris Churm) then I'll pop Little Tommy in the box for you.  Remembering to play the record is another thing entirely...you may need to give me a gentle nudge.

Great night, fantastic company, brilliant sets even early on as there was something for everyone. It was really good to see a few of the faces from local clubs getting behind what could become a welcome addition to the roster of great clubs to visit. Keep it Up lads!
