Imagine what will be in those 120 minutes? Any ideas?
Tickets still available at http://www.soulmusic.co.uk/tickets.htm

Trying to work out how many tickets left, although it's not easy with reservations etc

THIS Saturday Butch, Bob Cosby, Flanny, Steve Connor, Steve Plumb & Barry Maleady................think I might have forgotten to mention that Butch is doing a TWO HOUR set 10.30pm-12.30am.................a first for our neck of the woods and certainly gonna be a bit special and worth the admission alone methinks?
Will be contacting all those who have reserved tickets this week to get a better idea on numbers - will be a packer for sure
Pending maybe a couple of reservations not being able to make it, the last few tickets available can be bought here http://www.soulmusic.co.uk/tickets.htm
See you there x

Its as simple as this reallyanyone who enjoys crossover and 70s rare soul is in for a REAL TREAT this Saturday, when we bring together two of the top DJs of this genre in the UK, BUTCH and Soul Essence main man BOB COSBY.

The promise is `basically a minimum of three hours of quality music, which in many cases you wont hear anywhere else for some time to come, if ever!Either side of that the Orwell Boys namely Messers Plumb, Flanders, Connor and Maleady will attempt to maintain the quality and play up to the standard of the guests, so all in all is should be quite a goodly affair 😉

See You There

May not be as exciting as this but wont be far off

OK here are some directions.....the address is Haydock Park Golf Club, Newton Lane, Golborne Park, Newton-le-Willows, WA12 0HX
Sat Nav should get you close BUT it is tricky to find (especially in the dark) so here's the best way for travellers coming off at M6 J23 - Go up the A580 towards Manchester and at the first roundabout, go all around it and go back on yourself on the A580 back towards the M6. After a couple of hundred yards take the first left (Newton Lane) and after another couple of hundred yards look for the entrance to the Golf Club on the left hand side. Follow that thru to the car park and Bob Cosby is your Uncle :-)
Cheers

You always know that you're attending something special when a guy who is modern soul royalty turns up and isn't guesting. Colin Dimond Colin Curtis - mingling with the punters at Haydock last night - wow! The buzz and anticipation that we were all to witness and experience one of those once in a lifetime nights was fully justified. So, imagine you are transported back 40 odd years and it's your first proper soul event (mine was Wigan).

You head is filled with early & late 60's black music for the days of the Wheel and Torch with a few sublime bits of newer stuff that emanated from the Mecca. Loads of people dancing and many simply standing around the dance floor perimeter just taking in the sheer music quality. Every track was new and amazing then cause you've never heard them before, The quality superb - a mix of up and mid tempo from Detroit, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia and the West Coast. Then transport yourself forward to Haydock last night at 10:30pm. I never thought I would ever experience the feelings and emotions from my first few nighters in the late 70's again. How wrong was I.

For two hours the experience was jaw dropping and at times humbling. To say the 2 hour set dropped by Butch was on another level doesn't do it justice. The guy from Stoke delivered in spades and then some! Track after track was utterly sublime and I didn't know most of them. If Butch is on again in the UK anywhere I would recommend a hearing.

Thanks to Steve Plumb, Tsop Manchester Barry Maleedy, Brian Flanny Flanders, and Steve Connor for hosting this wonderful night (oh and also spinning some awesome tunage too). Ditto Bob Cosby - another ultra fine set from him too. Great also to see some great soul folk there John Townend; Jem Booth; Elaine Booth; Ian Cunliffe; Bob Taylor; Adrian Pierce Ady Pierce, Rob Haigh; Jane Jackson; and gang, Gilly Harrop; Susan Plumb; and Tony Halpin (Great to see you looking so well) and many many others.......Can't wait for Part 4 !
