North Lancs Soul Festival
19th to 21st May 2017
Morecambe, Lancashire, England
www.northlancssoulfestival.co.uk
The North Lancs Soul Festival goes GLOBAL for 2017 thanks to a recently agreed sponsorship arrangement with Boogie Bunker Radio. The UK based radio station broadcasts around the world via the Internet and station owner James ‘JJ’ Williams is a fan. He said: “I visited the Festival last year and was so impressed by not only the organisation but the commitment of the DJ’s who give their time voluntarily. I am delighted to be able to assist the Festival in 2017 and into the future”.
For 2017 the Festival will return to its ‘spiritual home’ of Smokey O’Connor’s in Morecambe for the eleventh staging of this soul music event. Dubbed ‘The Temple Of Soul,’ Smokey O’Connors is a superb triple-decker venue and will welcome soul music fans from across the length and breadth of the country who will be making their annual pilgrimage to this famous seaside resort. They attend to enjoy the superb soul music brought to them by the North Lancs DJ Collective, a group of radio and club DJ’s that will be voluntarily spinning tunes from right across the whole spectrum of soul music.
Festival spokesman Jason Mills said: “I am delighted that we shall be ‘coming home’ for the full three days of the festival and with the input and involvement of Boogie Bunker Radio, I look forward to bringing the Festival to even more listeners, not just in the UK, but also around the world.
“It is our intention to broadcast live from the Festival so that people unable to attend can still catch and enjoy the essence of this amazing Festival. On the Saturday afternoon and evening, Boogie Bunker Radio will be bringing along a team of their presenters and giving listeners a taste of what the station is about musically,” he added.
The three-day Festival features three separate themed rooms, each of which will be devoted to different genres of the music and over the weekend, 42 different DJ’s will play for a total of 97 hours!
Dates for the Festival are Friday 19th to Sunday 21st May and admission is by pre-purchased Festival wristbands only. Limited 25% discount early-bird wristbands are currently available priced just £15.00 for the whole weekend. However when allocated stock has gone, admission will return to full price of £20.00.
