Quality Oldies with plenty of underplayed/never played gems from the famous Soul Clubs of the 60's and 70's

Twisted Wheel, Blue Orchid, Up the Junction, Blackpool Mecca, Torch, Catacombs, Va-Va, Central, Casino, Cleethorpes Etc.

 

Crookes Club is an ideal old school soul venue

with superb sprung maple dancefloor and bags of atmosphere

and a big low priced bar,

less than a mile away from the old venue.

 

Starts 7-30 (warm-up) till 1-00 am

Admission just £3

Looking forward to the first night at the Crookes Club on Saturday 29th.The Same OVO music policy from The Gas Club crew continues hopefully to a new and successful home. On the agenda will be a mixture of Traditional Northern Soul Classics with a generous sprinkling of Forgotten, underplayed, and fondly remembered oldies. Ive been down to see the venue and its a perfect Northern Soul setting.Old Skool club layout with a MASSIVE wooden Dancefloor.

The Guys have asked me to DJ for them so ill be on the Decks for as many times as i can make it or for as long as they want me. 

Dave Brenton has spent a lot of time and money getting equipment together and sorting stuff out, as well as buying new tunes.

Lorraine Gregory has also been splashing out on records building up a nice collection, and its so good to see female DJs spinning the vinyl.

Chris Brooke is the King Pin experienced  DJ with a fantastic collection full of Top notch tunes. A Top soul man who has lived through the legendary clubs and Survived to tell the tale.

The Guys also have some top Guests lined up Starting this time with the fantastic Martin Stanford.

SO hope to see the place full on the 29th and lets keep the Gas club vibe on the burn.

Hi, just two weeks to go for the return of the Gas Club. A long wait from January with a new venue and a much bigger dance floor. This is a must for any dancers as this is an upgrade with a sprung maple wooden floor.  Music policy is the same as before with us all playing ovo's . Looking to pick up where we left off and seeing all our friends again.

Busy week at work so sorting out the record box today ready for this Saturday.Theres gonna be some great tunes spun by all the DJs and a massive floor to dance to em.Looking forward big style to seeing the guys and hearing their sets.Dave has bought a few belters recently and Lorraine is building a fine collection.Chris Brooke's magic yellow box is full of big ticket mouth watering records.Top class guest Mr Stanford the iceing on the cake.

Heres a few ive just planted in the box that might get a run out.

Well its finally come the long wait is over. With a bank holiday for the weekend this will be a great way to start things off. Looking forward to hearing all the new tunes the deejays have added to there collections. A big Thanks to Martin for being our first guest at our new venue. We have got nearly 6 hours of real Northern to dish out can`t wait for the new venue to come alive. Dave

Hi Daisy and thanks, sorry you can't be there at the opening night.

The night is bearing all the hallmarks of a magical evening. Martin Stanford our guest, always plays a superb spot and the place just oozes atmosphere with an incredible dancefloor. We will be pulling out all the stops, as always, playing fabulous sounds all on Original Vinyl as it always used to be and should be, plus plenty of underplayed gems.
