About The Event

Registered Charity Soul Logo 1.jpg

Charity Soul in association with Stephen and Julie Widdowfield of The Buck Inn are delighted to return  with an Across The Board  Soul weekend music event, featuring  a host of highly regarded dj’s including Ron Lavender, Tony Jackson, TOC  and Big Dave 'O'plus numerous guest dj’s  giving their time for free,  from the 7th -9th July

Once again we will have our highly successful raffles, and due to great public demand we will be selling our exclusive soul memorabilia and merchandise in the rear room of the Buck Inn

There is no entrance fee to this event, but we would kindly ask all patrons attending to make a small donation to Charity Soul’s on-going sponsorship of Prostate Cancer research.

Raffles for highly sought after, exclusive soul memorabilia will be held during the event with all proceeds going towards Cancer research

Previous weekenders here at the Buck In have been exceptionally well received and we look forward to this return visit

Should be a good weekend .......some highly respectable dj's wanting to give their service's over the weekend and help with our cause to find a cure for Prostate Cancer........if the donations are anything like at Bridlington, where we raised just under £3,000.0 and shared with ECSCSC's Bluebell Wood, then we are well on our way to achieving the 50K mark, ATMIT the cumulative total donated to Professor Maitland is around £44,000.0.

We'll have some great dj's spinning 'choons ' in the Buck, plus we'll be selling our unique and exclusive soul memorablia, holding actions and raffles. I'm aware that there's lots going on in Whitby, as well as the best F & C's in the UK, so why not pop in for a while and help with this great cause.

Dave ............................ in very 'umble, very heavy mode

I attended the Charity Soul event at The Windsor hotel,Bridlington, during the ECSC Spa weekend....Pleased i did !

A great time, very busy, very friendly too.

As Yocky already mentioned,  us men of a certain age are at risk, these guys explained to us exactly what research is being done to prevent this awful disease , quite an in depth chat too!  So please, come along , throw a quid in the collection tins and bust some  moves whilst you're there.

Well todays the start of THE BEST FREE SOUL EVENT in  Whitby, some well respected djs have VOLUNTEERED to dj for us just because of the cause we are raising money for. This fee event is now a 'must do' for the soul loving public attending Whitby for the Northern Soul weekender. The Buck is the place to be over the next few days for a chat, dance listen to some great 'choons' ................oh and not forgetting the unique and original soul memorabilia that will be on sale via our CEO in charge of Merchandising Mr. G. Dolby. There may be a special presentation to a Charity Soul member (under certain circumstances) for services above and beyond the call of duty.

Dave - In special recognition award mode (not Queens Birthday ward but certainly a queen)

That went well ,.    Heaving, hot, sweaty and stomping.

Whitby was alive with the song of SOUL, from about 7 venues! but the reason we visited was to spin a few records at The Buck Inn.  Many folk I'm sure, passed through its doors, some didn't leave,. It was that kind of event .

Big thanks to TOC, Richard and co for the invite,. Looking forward to seeing the amount raised .

   See you all soon

A great weekend in the Buck Inn, brilliant tunes & atmosphere over the Soul weekend. Was there on Sunday afternoon when £1000 was taken behind the bar & was immediately donated to the prostrate cancer fund. Well done to the publican, the DJs & all the Soulies who contributed. Richard.
