A superb lineup as always, the rarest of the rare to the classics of classics and all in between , in this magnificent 1931 ball room ... always rave reviews preceded by anticipation and excitement,
you know it will be top notch , travel with confidence , no drunks , no divs, just like minded soul folk !
And think on this thought , if you feel you " cant or don' t" do nighters anymore ?.. remember 6 am is not compulsory , come and experience a different vibe , it starts @ 9.00pm , stay till you feel you need to drift away ,we have folk still turning up @ 3 am ! :) "once bitten forever smitten" if you have been you are drawn , resistance is as they say ... "futile " see you all there people of the night ..

Put me down for 1m2 of dance floor please, can't do many niters now days due advancing years but won't miss this just gets better , great mix of soulies from all over . RIGHT ON !

Blackheart all nighter , Nov 17th 2018.. DJ times and ramblings ..
It is never an easy task to deliver a DJ line up ,no matter who is playing on a particular night, there are so many variables to consider it is a nightmare , I always try to be fare and accommodating with health issues , travel distance , personal circumstances , likes, dislikes, dj "sensible" rankings , who is best suited to a period in the night, and the list of criteria goes on ..and on ..

However there is a time to give it my best shot, I know that all the dj's playing on the night know full well they are playing to you and not themselves , "sometimes a dj will ask what do you think I should play ?" all I ever say is if you can play at least six out of your set you consider underplayed, do not compete with other dj's , and remember "if they are not dancing they are not coming back" ...

All records you hear on this night will be original first issues , or taken from original master tapes if unissued tracks , some may well consider such a stand unimportant , but what you are hearing has its own story to tell , for example it really has been played at someone's house in perhaps Detroit or Chicago when it was bought? , it may well have been played at some obscure radio station out west ? it may well have been discarded? , thrown in a garage? , sold to a second hand shop? or whatever fate .. but it has finally come across the Atlantic or some distant corner of the world to be owned , loved and played again , such is the provenance of original items , and you will hear them play again as they should be , to an appreciative crowd of great people .

Sadly due to personal reasons Ginger cannot make the night and I totally respect that as I know his reasons, so for a change I will play too . 1f642.png:)
