Mansfield Civic Quarter ! How to make things difficult for people to find. Why don't folks realise that name changes mean no continuity. 'Quarter' ? I can't be bothered to look where it is on my phone.

The room used to be called the Lindhurst Suite and it is housed in MANSFIELD CIVIC CENTRE BUILDING which is located on the Chesterfield Road South NG19 7BH and access to car park and venue is off Rosemary Street opposite Tescos.

Hope that helps

Phil

You won't believe your eyes take a look at Tommy dancing when he was a member of the Flamingos. Look on you tube under the flamingos jump children in 1959.If you look carefully you can see Tommy doing the splits, backdrops  spins and dancing, absolutely amazing        Regards Fred

Sorry Phil that I was sounding negative. I've been going to the place for quite a few years. Lovely room. They do all sorts except make the dance floor bigger. Huge room small floor, it wouldn't cost much to sort it.
The tables are right on the edge of the wood floor and people end up putting the chairs on the dance floor. Lots of space to shift the tables back 10 ft and the dancers will be happier and those sitting down won't start fighting with the dancers. I've seen some aggro start but thanks to  the ladies stepping in it's been sorted.

I haven't seen any problems with tables on the dancefloor which is bigger than most venues, if you moved tables that far back you'd probably end up with people stood in front of tables, blocking the view of those that don't dance or enjoy watching the dancers. I've never seen any aggro and have been going for 8 years or more.

Thanks for the feedback.  What we are going to do is change the name back to the Lindhurst Rooms.  That way continuity has not been lost, heaven forbid someone can't find it on their phone.

Next thing we are going to do is have a safety area around the dance floor of 3mt's.  We'll ban anyone form the area, and have a security guard, or possibly two patrolling it all night to make sure there's 'no agro' with the dancers and the people sitting down at the tables.

Last thing is that we will be extending the dance floor to the top half of the room, plus three meters for safety area, and the guards.  Sorry if most of the tables will be in the car park, but hey, who wants a small dance floor!!  Hope everyone can see Tommy Hunt from there!!!
