About The Event

This month at Darnall Horti' we are delighted to announce that we will be holding a 'Ponds Forge' and 'Deep End' reunion, with the whole night being turned over to the stalwarts of those brilliant nights, Mark Etheridge, Errol Green, Cliff Dale and Tony Wiggan. All proceeds from the night will go to the British Heart Foundation, in memory of our great friend Jim Smirk who so tragically passed away just recently. We will be running a raffle, so anyone wishing to donate anything please bring it along on the night. All contributions will be very mush appreciated.

It'll be the usual terms, open 8.00pm to 00.30am, £3 on the door, all records original vinyl only. The policy is rare and underplayed, across the board. No boots, no CDs, no top-500 pop-northern, just quality with a great crowd and great beers at WMC prices.

What an absolutely brilliant night at the Horti'!! Firstly, the main news - you all helped us raise £387 on the night for the British Heart Foundation, and I still have an item that I intend auctioning on the internet. The generosity of you guys can never be questioned. Thank you all so much.
Massive gratitude must go to our guests on the evening, Mark Etheridge, Errol Green & Tony Wiggan, for putting on the sort of night that made the Ponds Forge and Deep End events so special. With a range of top quality sounds spanning oldies to modern and back again, and stopping at every gas-lamp along the way, the dance floor was never empty. Brilliant stuff fellas. :-)
And, my personal thanks to the small team of mates who helped with assembling and disassembling the kit. Both Alan and I are struggling with old gits' back syndrome. Without you lot we would be sunk.
Lastly, a word for the bar staff who did a cracking job keeping us all well hydrated. :-)
Looking forward now to our October 20th bash, with special guest, Cumbria's own Denis Peacock. You can't fathom a word he says, but the tunes are brilliant, so that'll do us, won't it?
See you all then.
The Horti' Crew.
