The Velvelettes were sensational . Two cousins & two sisters signed to Motown as 15 /16 years olds in 1963 and still the very same original lineup . As well as the up tempo ‘hits ‘ some fabulous , pitch perfect mid tempo tunes with Cal on lead and the ‘girls’ with beautiful harmonies . Many commented , having seen The Velvelettes before , Whitby was treated to one of their greatest live performances . Off stage they were lovely , personable and chatty enthusing about Whitby , the audience , the venue , Dracula and the drive across the Yorkshire Moors . Needless to say they were treated to the local cuisine - Fish & Chips !

Big thanks to all that made it happen , Kev , Snowy , Chalks etc .
