Event Information

Wigan’s rare soul collective at ‘Coming Right Back’ proudly present our first rare, underplayed and forgotten all day soul session. Expect to hear only the the very best sounds played on original vinyl and delivered by well-known and respected DJs.

You will hear a mixture of rarest of the rare, semi-knowns and lots of underplayed sounds from clubs such as Stafford TOTW and Keele, up until the present day ‘newies’. Our aim Is to excite your ears and let you come away hearing something new but also give you some memory jerkers of the sounds of the yesteryears that laid the foundations of the Soul scene at venues like The Wheel, VaVa, The Pendulum and Torch. We play lots of iconic Northern Soul sounds as well, but only the very best!

Coming Right Back is now becoming a firmly established event on the soul calendar with our previous soul nights on a Friday being near sell-outs with a real up for it crowd of dancers, collectors and connoisseurs all under one roof sharing a love for soul music with no politics.

We are hosting this all-dayer so our friends from further afield to have the chance to see what we are all about as we understand it’s difficult for most to travel on a Friday with work commitments.

Tony Clarke, Derek Watmough, Richard Free & Dave Evison

Plus the residents...

Dave Molloy, Barry Maleedy & Jordan Wilson.

What a great day /night . Great to meet up with a bunch of old friends and talk record and life nonsense . Jordan and Charlotte are such a credit to the Northern scene they went into overdrive promoting this event and it paid off big time . The event is based around underplayed tunes and forgotten oldies and Dave Molloy ,Barry Maleedy , Jordan and Tony Clarke played outstanding sets with a bunch of tunes that were new to me . Dave Evison played a killer set of oldies many of which I hadn’t heard played out in years . I missed Dereks set sadly as I popped out to cool off and got heavily involved in record talk. Looking forward to the next one .
