Soaring temperatures combined with England winning in the World Cup quarter final against Sweden meant that some people clearly decided to do other things. Nevertheless for those that did attend it was another good night, interesting mix of DJ's with Dave Rimmer delivering a top notch set. Nice, easy to get to venue, cheap bar and attentive staff. Fantastic dance floor and lovely friendly crowd. From the point of view of drawing people there were a couple of the most interesting and expressive dancers I have ever sketched - certainly not your stereotypical northern soul dancers. Probably didn't do them justice in the attached sketch but it was a real gift to be able to draw someone who was in an interesting pose each time you looked at them, usually when you take a mental "snapshot" (or often an actual photograph for that matter) people just look like they are standing still. One to come to if only for the dancers!
