Culcheth The Spirit Of Lowton More Info

NOVEMBER 9th, Northern Soul MONSTERS in the big room with SIMON INGHAM and Modern Soul CLASSICS in the back room with STEVE WOOMBLE, What's not to like... GET IN!

Two rooms of pure soul pleasure line up for the Lowton/Culcheth faithful on November 9th. 'Mr Lowton',  Kev Murphy is back from his DJing activities in Portugal and Detroit and ready to heat up the Wheels of Steel, 'Mr Dependable' one of the best DJ's on the scene, Bob Hinsley will be ready to drop a few danceflor MONSTERS as well as some of his famous 'from the back of the box' underplayed oldies, the we have 'rising star' Simon Ingham flexing his musical muscles as the main guest in the Northern Room, featuring some of the sounds highlighted later on this event page.

But that's not all!...for those with a more 'Modern' leaning, we have the refreshed and re-invigorated Modern Room, cortousey of the 'Soul on the Edge' team who, after the highly successful Foxfields Wekender, will be bringing one of the 'Modern Soul Classics' originators Steve Woomble to entertain like only he can with a monsterous mix of 'Modern Soul Monty's'

So get the date, Friday November 9th in your diaries and let's see you at the fantastic Culcheth Sports Club for the Spirit of Lowton Northern and Modern Soul night

Culcheth seems to have come around really quickly, only seems 5 minutes since the last installment! As always I'm really looking forward to the night and starting to get together my thoughts on what to spin (which will no doubt completely change on the night )

I'm told it was a Casino spin for John Vincent, wouldn't know for sure but I do know it deserves more airtime IMHO

Superb track as is their other Mirwood release 'Set Me Free' which is a bit more under the radar...

Some great tunes there Simon the performers always went down well at the old Lowton. Sorting the box out for Friday looking forward to the return of Kev he allways  pulls a few suprises out of his boxes

A piece of Edwin Starr magic, only available on a German Tamla Motown 45 (it never ceases to amaze what's out there in other countries, although I guess with a large US military presence in Germany it makes some sense?).

Hopefully we'll all find some time tomorrow to post some more possible plays before we set off for Culceth.

I'm gonna put some time asside to dig out some disco tracks especially for Mick Howard (you know you love it Mick)
