What a day/night !!....Gail and myself spent the Sunday doing ....absolutely 'nowt'....ahhh bliss !! I gotta say.... a massive thank you to the venue/management and bar staff....you did us proud...you hosted a CO72 charity do..and you got it spot on...well done ! Not forgetting ALL THOSE behind the scenes who work tirelessly in putting this thing together.....your hard work has paid off...oh and thanks to the 'Guilty Pleasures ' boys.....what a great little set up you hosted....mighty fine that was chaps If you remember on stage Paul Donnelly mentioned/thanked on the DJ's who religiously each year, without issue, give up their time and play for us....for FREE...and always deliver for this event and more importantly for YOU....the participants...thanks guys'''your contributions are valued and appreciated by all !! Participants ??....yes thats what I like to think you are.....YOU Make the event....you travel from near and far......yes US..., Belgium ..London... East and West Mids....and 'anley duck'.... Its blatantly obvious without your generosity and enthusiasm..we would never have reached over 30k in charity contributions and indeed this years total of £1100 ..was AGAIN all down to you.....heartfelt gratitude from us all The 'goodwill' that you generate is OUTSTANDING...Each year you never fail to provide one of the highlights of the year for me and a 'doff my cap' to you all Malc and Paul(and Julie Morgan Searle of course), as you know are standing down (but not out) ! of any future CO72 type bashes...BUT to me they will always be CO72...AND will be dragged unceromoniously from their 'bath chairs' next year and WILL be forced to play some records for us..and to spread their 'joie de vivre' liberally amongst us... 2019 ??? CO72 ??..a 'Whole new plan' ??? The amount of 'well wishers' and offers of help for 2019 was totally overwhelming..and quite emotional (well it was for me lol ) Anyway we've got 363 days to sort something out !!
