About The Event

As most of you know we lost our Soul On Wax co-promoter Lee Vowles at the end of March 2018. In his memory and honor we intend to continue running the Newquay Soul Weekender in November at the Legacy Victoria Hotel, as this was always Lee’s little baby.  This event will remain the same as Lee would of wanted it a true mix of rare soul grooves right across the board, and not just all top 500.  This years event is a special tribute to Lee and his love of sweet soul music.

We have three rooms of soulful grooves with the addition this year of the Basement Club, offing you a mix of Modern Soul, Xover, Soulful House and some Jazz Funk . The main ballroom with a chilled out vibe and across the board music policy and the down stairs club room known as the dungeon offering you a mix of every thing different, but soulful. Tickets are on sale via the Cornish Riviera Box Office at just £25.00

Really looking forward to the weekender, last year was great and I know that Lee would have been so happy that the event is continuing, just wish he could still be with us - it will be great to meet up with everyone - all the best and see you at the go go!

Well done Dean & Sarah for making another great weekender happen, a great tribute to Lee. I know he would have loved the diversity of tunes played throughout the weekend, from the modern and rare underplayed rooms to the main room which catered for a variety of classic / across the board tunes. The sound systems were great as were the dance floors. Well done to all the other dj's who really were well chosen for their great collections and knowledge. I was privilged to be part of it and the dancers made it happen with so much energy throughout the days and nights. Great to meet up with so many good friends old and new- keep up the great work, if you haven't been before and Dean and Sarah decide to do another next year, I would thoroughly reccomend it! all the best and ktf!

...and I missed both your sets as I was in the other rooms! Great to see you and Sarah, as always - catch you at Soulfusion in January if not before!

Back on topic, great weekend, full of tunes, fun, chatter and laughs - but no fancy dress 😉 - not the biggest but a real soul family vibe to it. Loved it to bits...

Jerry you played some wonderful tunes, loved the Yate reunion with Sarge and Yourself, as did everybody looking at the busy dancefloor- also loved your choice of tunes in the modern room, sorry I caught the tail end of your spot- loved the George Benson tune. Long may these wonderful weekenders continue - all the best xx
