About The Event

Hydro Soul Club, School Aycliffe Lane, Newton Aycliffe, Co. Durham, DL5 6EA. This is the 1st session of our 17th year and who better to invite up for this one "CARL PIPER". Carl always delivers when he guest DJ's at the Hydro.

Saturday June 23rd, promises to be hot and sweaty.

Doors open. 7.30 closes 1a.m Sunday morning.

£3 on the door.

Kev Richardson & Mick Boyes resident DJ's.

Soul venue playing soul music with a passion for those who are passionate about soul music.

The music is all about the dance.

We have to thank Richard Cryer for the way he carried the 16th anniversary night for us last month. The invitation was made well ahead of the night and Richard didn't pull any punches, playing two exceptional spots and spinning exactly what the house policy is advertised as "old School". And he received a well worth round of applause from the Hydro faithful.

Looking forward to catching up again Carl. See you on Saturday night. No need to worry about what to play. Your a DJ who enjoys a dance, in my book that's a no brainer. Just do what you do best.

I haven't had chance to reply to Carl's comments regarding last months Hydro Soul night as I have been otherwise occupied, but, what else can I say. Numbers were down, not unexpectedly, due to the weekender season hitting every monthly venue, but after a slow start to the night and after Carl had arrived the night just lifted. Carl always brings the atmosphere up, not that our regular supporters require much encouragement. Great couple of sets from the main man himself and Val was sat among people who went out of their way to make her welcome. I bet she was asleep before they hit the A1 for the return home.
