Situated in the stunning historic city of York The Clarence Beat Club also takes you back in time. To a time of smart 3 button Italian styled suits, mini dresses and skirts, button-down collars and handmade shoes, knitted ties, cufflinks, tie pins and pocket handkerchiefs. A time of 'bob' or 'back-combed' hairstyles. Continental modes of transport in the form of Vespa's or Lambretta's or the British iconic Mini. The music was new and anti-establishment: cool, finger clicking and hip shaking modern jazz, or hard-hitting, earthy R&B, or pounding soul stompers hailing from across the pond or the more relaxed vibe of the islands to the south with those rocksteady ska beats. This is what The Clarence Beat Club is all about.

Plus a great compact venue, with a chill out beer garden, [mod band posters in the bar and a scooter hanging on the beer garden wall], that welcomes you with open arms and creates that cool 60's Mod Club vibe making you want to get up and shake ya thang.
Good value drink prices for a city centre. Also, two NCP car parks are only 5 minutes walk from the venue.
There's plenty to see and do: historic attractions, award-winning restaurants, good value accommodation and quality retail shopping therapy. So why not make a proper weekend of it.

Last shout on this one, free entry, beautiful weather in one of the most beautiful cities in the country, oh and nearly forgot some of the most sublime tunes you will hear anywhere and all of course on original vinyl, whats not to like

Huge thanks to everyone who made the first Vaults Club a huge success. Even though York Races were on and the weather was rather 'damn hot' you came in your numbers and we all had a cracking day and night.

Big up to the deejays and the venue who helped create a proper mod club vibe.

Great to see ARSE and plenty of other scooterists out and about. Awesome!

So big love, peace and thanks y'all,

The Beat Club crew x
