Scooterboy 272 August 26, 2018 Share this review A huge 'Thank You' for your support at last night's Northern Line. The consensus of opinion was that a great night was had by all. Numbers were slightly affected by the Bank Holiday but that didn't dilute the atmosphere or stop the dancers who were out in force from 'early doors'. With no Moz this month, our special guest DJ Mick 'Gigsy' stepped into the breach giving us a 1 1/2 hour set that's rivaled any guest we're ever had. Well chosen tunes that fill the floor from start to finish are virtually guaranteed when Mick's guesting for us and last night was no exception with us being treated to a masterclass in blending in-demanders and stompers. with a few less obvious choices, that all hit the spot with those in attendance. Ben's collection is growing at a terrific pace and every month I'm blown away by the sets he delivers. Ben has taste in music and an uncanny ability to translate the mood of the evening into dancefloor winners in a way that I envy...and I'm especially jealous given that he's less than half my age! Two blinding sets ensued and I was more than a little nervous following Ben as I had the last (and first) spot of the night. Thankfully I succeeded in not making a pig's ear of things and I didn't undo Ben's or Mick's good work. My first hour of the night was generally rarer and more underplayed 45s with my final hour being classics virtually all the way. Once again, thank you for your support and we're delighted that so many of you appeared to have a great night. Hope to see you next month on 22nd September when our special guest is Steve Jones.
