I am sorry to have to inform you this will be the last one that I am involved in organising. I struggle for weeks after running theses events. I have ME/CFS which makes it difficult with energy, I will continue to DJ on occasions.

With the above note from Jon and we have always done this event together, we would think this will be the last one. Over the past 6 years we have tried to make this event a bit different and managed to raise a lot of money for various charities and for the hall (that is run as a charity) Just want to thank all the DJ's and people that have helped over the years and to all those who have travelled , some large distances, to our event. Let's try and make the last one, one to remember. ATB See you soon.

So sorry to hear that Glyn & John - these events have been so well run by Yourselves Lorrie, Mazz and all. The music you have introduced to us has been exceptional - thanks for the memories and it has been a privilege to dj for you. Also the monies you have made for charity have been top drawer! You deserve to be on the new years honours lists! ktf and we hope John's health improves - from Matt & Sarah xx.

Newnham Northern Soul Club, Great news,We have to alter the totals for our event after a Large Donation to the Hospice an extra £100 was given to us and another £5 from two people who could not attend.The Total amount now is £ 800 * of which £ 275 has gone to the hall and £ 525 will go to Great Oaks “Dean Forest Hospice. MANY THANKS For a great Gesture.

This was the last Newnham Northern Soul Club event that was organized by Jon Willis & myself, It Was a belting event, with many well-known and a few new faces coming from far and wide to boost the attendance and add to the camaraderie and appreciation of some fantastic music that we could all enjoy. The Total amount You all raised was £ 800 * of which £ 275 has gone to the hall and £ 525 will go to Great Oaks “Dean Forest Hospice” THANK YOU for turning up to make this possible. As well as raising a great deal over the past 6 years for the hall we have also been able to donate to a large number of other charities, who have been very grateful for your donations. One of the biggest factors toward this achievement is the Number of Quality DJ’s Who have given their time to us for Free over the years, So it’s time THANK YOU So Much to ALL the DJ’s who have ever spun the decks since the beginning . This event our 6th Anniversary was graced with performances by Pete Lyster, Kev Such, Al Shaw, Sid Pratt, Maz, Marc Moys, Steve Ray and Jon Willis Tremendous job by all. Just thanks again all for making the event what we aimed for from the start a friendly, social, event playing quality tunes that you don’t hear every week. Ps. A new promoter has in the last week or so come forward to express an interest in maintaining a Soul Do at the Miners. We will be prepared to assist him to get it up and running but will not have any control.
