About The Event

As most,  if not all of you will be aware, we have been forced to relocate due to the thoughtless behaviour of a couple of people who attended and decided to stay in the car park at our last event.  Anyway, we now have a venue we love and we hope you will love it too. So,  on 2nd November, our guests Martyn Ward, Robbo and Dean Anderson will join our residents, Simon, Derek and Dan to bring you another night of great music , following our play what you love ethos.  Quick update, we are very pleased to announce that Chalky is joining our November lineup. Be there ...

If anyone's asking "what the hell is this all about?" there's a review of the opening night in Issue 1042 of Blues and Soul Magazine, (yep, it's still going and in print too, none of this online nonsense).

Been asked to put up a massively interesting message of how to get to the building.

A sat nav with LA1 3JD will take to right to the door.

Basically though, coming from the south. Get off at J33, at the roundabout take your second left, (taking you right). Drive through Galgate, along the A6, (totally blanking Lancaster University, we are not there) and come into Lancaster. At the traffic lights after the garage on your left, go straight on and take your 1st Right onto Barton Road, drive along there until you reach a mini roundabout. Go over it, (not literally of course) and you'll see a pretty big building to your right. Pretty much right across from the entrance to Bowerham School, (which will be on your left), is the entrance to the University of Cumbria on your right.

Coming from the north get off at J34 follow the signs for Lancaster, drive through the one way system, (unless you know the back route around it, then you're sorted); follow the signs for the University of Cumbria, but basically stay in the one way system until you pass the magistrate court, which is just after the Town Hall on your left, stay in the left hand lane so you don;t get sucked back into the one way system and follow the road up past the hospital (on your right), to the roundabout. Take your first left at the roundabout onto Bowerham Road, drive up past the pub, (The Park Hotel) on your left. There should be a school ahead to your right, opposite it is the entrance to the university of Cumbria on you left, go in

From what ever direction you came from, after going in the entrance,  take your first right which will take you into the closest car park, right next to the venue. You really won't miss the venue, it's massive and has big white steel supports  under it. It's not well camouflaged at all.

The venue is no. 14 on the map. Car Parks on the map too. Ignore the parking meters, parking is only chargeable Monday to Fridays 8-6pm Parking is free

Note that there are 3 entrances to the University. 2 are behind it and hopefully you won;t go near them. You need to use the main entrance to get to the close car parks. If you do find yourself driving past and you're not on Bowerham Road and see an entrance, DO NOT park in it if it's the Sports Complex. They lock the gates about 11pm and you can't get out. Just use the entrance on Bowerham Road as mentioned above in Greek and it's all good, it's the easiest one anyway. Just saying this in case anyone takes a turn too early and takes one of the rear entrances, (oo err).

Interesting or what?

Oh for the days of going round the town 4 or 5 times, 10 times round the roundabouts and rolling up 15 minutes before the night ends, none of these directions or tw*tnavs 🤣

See you all Saturday, looking forward to the night greatly.  Not sure what time I'll be there, coming with Dean so will be on Dean O'clock 🤣

If it's dog rare, it must be the one on 'Mutt'

Dean used to play 'Dusty Wilson - It's Going To Be A Tragedy', that's Green. But I'm sure he said he used to play the Acetate of it, so you may be thinking of something else.

Grumpy Soul at Runcorn had a road protected by a magical force field that only revealed itself you passed it 3 times shouting the magic words "how the f**k do I get over there."

Simon seemed to think getting a tired and hazy me to pop this on was a good idea. I told him it wasn't. Just pop a warm coat and a pair of tennis rackets in your boot, in case you end up in the Antarctic following this.

It won't be the first time that anyone has got lost going to any venue never mind the first time at a new venue. Especially on Lancasters one way system.  Sat nav is poised and ready.
