About The Event

MODIFIED IBIZA 2019 will again be spinning vinyl over 5 nights after its continuing success over the last 7 years. The dates for next year are 17th - 21st May at the Bn3 Club in the bay of San Antonio. We have 10 Djs flying in from the UK  playing Northern across the board, Motown, Ska, and R&b and Club Soul treasures all on wax !!  Our Djs are on rotation to give you an eclectic mix of top sounds and the venue offers a great dance floor, superb sound system and large terrace area. All nights start at 9.30 pm till 4 am and a 10 euro wristband gives you entrance to the venue at all times with discount drinks on beer, wine and local mixers all night every night.

 

 This popular event and venue are close to several good hotels used by our guests, many stay at the Playa Bella Hotel which is opposite the venue and right on the beach, the hotel is owned by a British family and everyone gets well looked after, other 3 to 4 star hotels in the vicinity include the Riviera, Milord, Rosamar and the Marvel from apartment only to all inclusive. Flights at that time of year are available from all over the UK with Jet2, Ryanair, Thomson/Tui, Easyjet and B.A.  You have a choice of a package deal with various holiday companies or get a flight only and book your hotel of preference with transfers to and from the airport available with Modified.

 

Modifieds' popularity is increasing year on year with very friendly like minded folk of all ages attending across the board, soulies, scooterists, mods etc. Our Djs are unrestricted in what they decide to play and attend all nights thereby not duplicating vinyl and the list is as follows Steve Brown- Promoter & Dj at Walsall Wood All Nighters,  Eddie Piller - DJ and owner of Acid Jazz Records,  Modcast et al, Diane Harwood - Music Mania weekenders,  Jok Evans~ Funky Fish, Volks and Brighton Scooter weekender DJ,  Ian Turner - DJ at Music Mania Weekender and soul venues around the South coast, Carole Dibble - Djing Modern Soul at the Walsall Wood allnighters,  Nigel (Milly) Milner - Promoter and Dj at Ashby Mill Road Soul Club,  Dave Grimshaw ~ Spinout Records and Southern Counties DJ,  Laurence Buckingham~ Grosvenor and Attic DJ Skegness,   Steve Spencer -  DJ at Cafe Del Mar, Bn3 Club, Sol House & Tavern in Ibiza.

Just home from a cracking 11 nights in San Antonio, 5 of them DJing barring one night and some nights twice, p.s. 4am is early they all hit at least 4:30 some a bit later, had the pleasure on Tuesday of double decking an early spot with Dave Grimshaw and then went back on for the last shift with Steve Brown and also had the pleasure of dropping the last tune at 4:35 to a rammed floor, got the hairs on the back of my neck tingling :)
As said already above the music is varied from Motown, Northern and Modern soul with Ska, Reggae and 60's / 70's Mod and some later stuff like Paul Weller and Mario Blondi.
My 4th in attendance and 3rd DJing and I thank Steve Spencer for asking me and to the people for Dancing, here's to next year

What an amazing weekend, great DJ line up playing some awesome music. Lovely to see some regular faces also meeting new people. A  friendly and welcoming atmosphere, we've been coming from the start and it gets bigger and better each year. 

Thanks Steve for putting this great weekend together again,

So I have just returned from a week in Ibiza which included x5 nights of Modified Ibiza. I was truly honoured to be asked by Steve Spencer to join the Modified DJ team this year to spin alongside a top line up of DJ's playing across the board of Northern Soul, Ska, 60's Soul, Modern, Motown 60's RnB and British 60's Beat. In no way is this being biased cause I played, but I can categorically state, this event is by way out in front, the most friendliest and well organised event I have been to. I have also been when not DJing, so I see both sides. 

All DJ sets were second to known with only a few records being played twice over the 5 days. That is a feat with 10 DJ's playing over 5 days from 21.00 till 04.00 each night. 

Everyone was up for a good time, danced their socks of and had so many laughs with old and new friends. Creating such a great atmosphere and a truly unique event, all created by Steve Spencer who puts himself out to talk with everyone, whether you are a regular or new to Modified. The owners and barstaff of BN3 help create that unique atmosphere also. Whether you travel solo or in as a couple or in a group, you are part of the Modified family as soon as you arrive. Even at the end of the 5 nights, Steve and the team get around everyone who attended to thank them and say goodbye.      

Thank you Steve Spencer, to your lovely lady Jane, all at BN3,  all the DJ's, all friends old and new, the dancers, the head nodders, the leg shakers, the finger clickers and everyone that was at Modified. It takes all to help with the atmosphere that is created by Steve.

With that in mind, I am busy looking at booking for 2020.

Just back from Ibiza after attending the first 3 nights.... As I knew the case would be, it did not disappoint. The music, the atmosphere and the company were all just fantastic. The intimacy of the club coupled with the overall vibe makes it a unique experience. Everyone is treated as an old friend... Steve Spencer and all the DJ's genuinely have time for everyone, no one is left out. 

Every DJ payed such varied and diverse sets it was a joy to be in attendance. Probably my favourite track was Wade in the water by Little Sonny, played out by Eddie Piller.

Steve's music policy of anything goes is evident in the way that each DJ performs his or her sets..... Yes, they play from their hearts... yes, they play for themselves but mainly they play for their audience... and the audience for their part respond in the best way they can..... by dancing all night.

The only downside is that each year we attend the event becomes a little bigger which could lead to it out growing its current location. This is a concern that Steve Spencer is aware of and am sure he will not let it happen. On one hand I am saying 'come along and have a truly fabulous time' and on the other hand I am saying 'but not too many of you'....lol....

Thank you Steve.... You have put on another great event. I truly hope we can be with you next year. Modified is the highlight of our year.
