"Harlem 69 - The Future of Soul" is the highly anticipated conclusion to the epic soul trilogy (Detroit 67 and Memphis 68) from author and broadcaster Stuart Cosgrove, winner of 2018's Penderyn Music Book Prize. "Harlem 69" maps out how Harlem became the genesis of future musical forms (jazz-funk, psychedelic soul, disco, boogie, rap and hip-hop) amidst intense social change, with Stuart's forensic levels of research and compelling story telling.

This club launch event will be hosted by Alison Stroak (Glasgow Music City Tours), with Stuart reading extracts from the book, followed by a Q&A and a book signing session (stall hosted by Waterstones). At 10pm, the lights will dim and the event becomes a soul club night, where Stuart will spin some of the records which formed a backdrop to the books, alongside classics and mega-rarities from his awesome collection.

Joining the Harlem Shuffle playing 45s on the night will be respected collectors Lynne & Dave Girdwood (True Soul) and resident Andrew Divine.

Doors open 7:30pm/talks begins at 8pm/club night 10pm - 2am
