Soul In The Park Nottingham

The Venue has proved difficult to find as it is in a gated community. From Maid Marian Way turn into Friar Lane towards the castle. That's a left if you're coming up the hill and right if you're going down. As the road turns sharply right take the left passing castle gate and you will enter the park (Lenton Road). Follow the road down the hill to a round about and take the 4th exit (Tattershall Drive), at the T junction turn right (Tattershall Drive) and the entrance to the Squash club car park is immediately on your left. Up the wooden steps to the entrance then through the main door through the inner door and follow round to the right to a further door then up the stairs (or take the lift) to the next floor where you will be greeted warmly, enter the air conditioned calm of the club!

This will be Bryn Wright’s last night with Soul in the Park as he plans to move to Wales. We will greatly miss Bryn he has the most unique mind when it comes putting together music choices for our event . His knowledge and wisdom from around the Soul scene is amazing . So I welcome you all to come and enjoy a wonderful night of Northern Soul and from Bryn’s own collection of original vinyl some of the best eclectic tracks on the scene . Our guest Dj is none other than Micky Boyle who played at The Brit club for 17 years, who’s knowledge and original vinyl collection is also one of the best around. This gentleman’s history of playing around the country and traveling to many different states in America to acquire the original and best Northern soul music is indisputable. That is why he is the best person to take over Soul in the Park from Bryn . It will be a night of sadness and joy, but Bryn will always have a place at Soul in the Park whenever he needs to spin his vinyls and have a night off from organic vegetable farming .

It will be a pleasure to be the guest dj at this brilliant event and I am honoured to be taking over from Bryn in the future. I would like to thank Bryn for many good nights at Soul in the Park and wish him all the best for his future decisions.
