Finding Nemo was the grumpy soul version of finding the old Runcorn venue 😅

Having  to take a rain check on tonight's shinangans at grumpy soul. Gutted I can't make it,  not feeling so clever plus i smashed myself in the mouth / face with a steel pipe in work yesterday so ive spoilt my boyish good looks and wont be able to shave for a week until it heals  . Party on regardless people.

What a top night, busy music was unreal, hats off to you both if anyone deserves is you guys. It was what you said pal like minded people dancing to the music,loved the scotish contingent especially Andy. The things he had to do just to get there great bunch and loved it "nowt in Scotland like this and will be back for the next one. Best night for me this year so far. Right I'm off to much liquorice last night.

This is what it says on the tin 

"We really just wanted somewhere to go with like minded fools to hear the stuff we wanted to hear.  Nowt fancy: no gimmicks, showing off, trying to re-write the scene or claiming to be anything special. We just wanted a decent rare soul night up here as they started to disappear." and thats what it did

A pleasure to attend again, a chance to say hello to people not seen for years, hear top class stuff I've not heard before and generally soak up a really good vibe. Welcoming smiles on arrival and fully operational chocolate dispenser.😁 The enthusiasm of the Grumpy team shines through it all. A great night, thank you.

We'd like to thank ... well, you know who you are and I'm cabbaged so will cut to the chase.

Double busy and beltin' atmosphere all night. Thought John and Keith were absolutely top drawer, as we knew they would be; thanks again lads! Loads of familiar and some new faces; great to see Rod, George, Derek P et al down Deeside. 

Top tip: if you want it to buzz get a load of absolute maniacs - in the BEST possible sense - down from Scotland. You lot make an unbelievable effort  every single time and, in all honesty, if absolutely no one else turned up it'd still be a bloody good night!

Cheers all. See you in July.

No fish drinking, but Grumpy Soul could gave a great display of the Scots givin' it a right good kick of the ball!! McLean's Sambucca stock finished, Tequila a go-go 🥃🍻🍻🥂🥃 Brilliant night - one of the best for atmosphere alone, let alone the brilliant music.

Oooooh errrrrr, that was a bit of alright wasn't it :thumbup:

Packed to the rafters with people coming in from 7.45, bloody brilliant. Keith and John were absolutely fantastic as we knew they would be, and Lord Welding of Cradley Heath was as fab as ever. Thanks to Lou for her sterling work on the door and apologies to those who no longer have hair on their arms due to Phil's lack of wristband skills :lol:

Biggest thanks of the night as always goes to you guys who make the night as good as it is. To the instant atmosphere the sizeable clan from north of the border always bring with them, to the never missers, to those who come for the first time and love it - we salute you! 

See you in July! xxx

I don't usually do the social media thing but just have to say a big thanks to Joan and Phil for having me and to all the Grumpy Soulsters for putting up with me. I loved it and we all had a great time once again. Our lot were paying homage to Shotts a little too literally (SHOTS at the bar!). I have broken another of my rules and posted my sets in the playlists section on here, as requested by Colsoul.

Congratulations guyz you delivered again , fantastic atmosphere  , choonage to die for  , two fantastic guests who nailed it . Always a pleasure to help Phil you know that & I know how you want the sound system to be spot on & it sounded the dogs bollocks 🐶, thanks for tea but don't let Mrs Livesey suggest having desert again ! Well at least for another 12mths ! Lol 😂

Roll on July , I really can't wait , a night  that delivers every time 😉
