Despite the name this is only a few hundred yards from the centre of Stourport, pretty big and an almost perfect dancefloor - spotlessly clean and very smooth, good sound system, nice layout, drinks were cheap enough. The music was the main plus point though - the poster was pretty explicit "This is not a top 500 event" but even that can mean all different things to different people, sometimes it means obscure for obscurities sake and relentlessly mid-tempo but again that wasn't the case here. Missed the first set and most of the second but the other four DJs delivered an impressive range of underplayed gems; Sweet Things - Billie Kennedy, They Call Me The Fat Man - Joe Medwick and Left Out - Jesse Johnson (worth the price of admission for that song alone). Possibly two or three songs you'd hear on any given night but this afternoon just went to show that you can play hours of music without having to fall back on House For Sale or I Wanna Give You Tomorrow twice a night. Next one is October - definitely the best Sunday event out there. Drew a couple of DJs. I rarely give 5 stars - I've noticed that often reviews are by people connected with the event who inevitably give 5 stars to everything. I am trying to be objective. Link to review
