Looking forward to spinning some tunes at the iconic club where I first started out back in the summer of 1978 as warm up man for John Poole and Andy Lee. They gave me my first break as a dj. I stayed as a resident until the nights finished in late 1982. Two years later I returned with Derek Allen. Rob Smith. Rich Broughton. Myself and Andy Shaw. And have guested for several other promoters over the last 40years since I first ventured down. So I'm looking forward to spinning in the Batcave one last time. Let's make this a night to remember.

Good to have you back Steve

The Brit - This iconic house of soul will close its doors forever and be pulled down in January 2020 for the expansion of the NFFC. We have secured 6 nights July - December (Dates listed above) to celebrate Nottingham's most loved soul venue. Even the Palais or Dungeon couldn't compare to this place and it still looks like it did back in the day.

We have secured many Brit DJs to assist in these final nights, Richard Broughton has agreed to come out of retirement for one last time. John Poole - Rob Thomas - Glyn Sisson - Steve Frost - Rob Smith - Mick H - Nev Shooter - Steve Phillis - Also SITP regulars Alex Gallagher and myself will be behind the decks. Also we're giving a few sets to Brit newbies for those who have a serious record collection but not had the chance to put the legendary Brit club on their CV. Only original vinyl will be used by all our DJs.

Soul In The Park has been running for nearly 2 years and is well known for not playing same old same old. We play quality Northern, 60s, 70s, R&B, Motown. ballads, rare and yes some top 500. Now we are at the Brit, we will continue to do this and I know that our booked DJs will also play with passion.

Hope to see you there  -  Mick

No Brit newbies on tonight. Steve Phyllis was warm up man before me and has dj'd there more times than we can remember.

Steve Frost became a very regular guest for John and Andy and was practically a regular. He certainly help take it to the next level music wise.

Frostie will be there on Oct18th with that 120 count box to die for - Don't miss this one it may be your only chance to hear some of his Brit killers from 25 yrs ago and of course his current playlist will take some beating - bringing the 'bride as well' - keeps him in check

Two brit veterans with records to die for this will be another top night down trentside and I'm sure one not to be missed.

It’s going to be another great night at The Brit. Remarkable venue it’s going to be such a loss to the Northern Soul scene.

Week to go get your dancing shoes on. I'm back in my home town for one last set at this iconic venue. I'll be spinning tunes that I played between 78 and 86 up to present day. Something for everyone. The Brit was always  a leader when it came to top tunes of the time. Many current spins where first aired down the brit, looking forward to spinning along side fellow ex resident Steve Frost to. So in the words of Marvin Gaye let's get it on

See you there Steve p

Three days and counting can't say enough how honoured I am to return to this iconic venue. The djs that have graced the decks of the brit are like a who's who of the soul scene. Denny, Kev Roberts, John Poole Andy Lee, Rob Smith, Derek Allen. Richard searling, soulsam, Dave raistrick, myself  Rich Broughton and in more recent times Mick H, Rob thomas, Steve frost, Mick Boyle, Glyn Sissons, Tony clark,.too name a few. The music as always been of the highest quality and in true brit fashion Friday will be just that.

See you there Steve p

Box of goodies sorted ready for tomorrow night can't wait. Feeling nostalgic, pity the decks aren't still in the little cupboard. Remember having to cool the amps with fire extinguisher on several occasions as they were boxed in. Fun times

See you all tomorrow. Steve p

Great night down trentside last night great to catch up with old friends and new. Quality sounds from all the djs. Thoroughly enjoyed playing one last set to a appreciative crowd. Thanks for dancing folks. It was a pleasure to play for you at the club I first started out at. Playlist to follow in next few days.

To Mick and Lisa thanks for asking me to be part of this iconic venues final months
