The Cinnamon Club will bring the best sounds in Northern Soul to your ears every 1st Friday of the month, 4 times a year.

The very first one will be held here ‪on Friday November the 1st 2019 (8pm to 1am‬) £5.00 

5 DJs on the night,

The original Soul on the Edge team - Paul Kidd, Stephen Connolly and Ian Wills (former Soul on the Edge DJs) @ The Festival Hall in Alderley Edge,    along with two top draw guest DJs.

Just booked 4 of us after the "pie eater" sent message of the exorbitant price for hotel  . Looks like the Alderley Edge crew have found a new home, our kind of venue. The " YORKIES ARE COMING ! "

It's taken Paul & myself a long time to find a venue that matched up to Alderley Edge Festival Hall,  this place has it all and more, fantastic sprung dance floor.

Look forward to seeing you all from Lancashire, Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, wales and beyond, will see you all before November & October when we will see you all in Albuferia Portugal for the Northern Soul Algarve.

There's a Travelodge in the centre of Altrincham, The Cresta Court, there's a Premier Inn in Altrincham just near Cresta Court , Mercure Altrincham Bowdon Hotel, Altrincham Lodge, Premier Inn Bucklow Hill and more besides.

I will list a few more soon.

This place was used as the set for the northern soul scenes in the Age Before Beauty comedy drama on the BBC last year.  I know because I was there, and it is indeed a lovely venue. Fab dance floor and a lovely feel to it. I did wonder why nobody had discovered it yet!  Great to hear that someone finally has!

It’ll be great to meet up again with you both Yocky mate and we will sort a date for you to come and DJ for us too. You will love the place.

A great venue and local to me. There is various live music events in this place from soul, jazz and everything in between.  Snake Davis appears quite a bit. It has hosted a couple of northern nights before, quite a few years back. There is quite a few soul nights in the area, within a 5 mile radious but having been to the festival hall i think you lads will pack it. Just a pity the local Altrincham Soul Club night finished last month after a few years. Two pubs next to the club and a five minute taxi ride from Altrincham town centre.

Fantastic news this, it really is. Another ‘dedicated’ Northern Soul night. The venue is superb for Soul with the large wooden dance floor and as venues goes comes a close second to Sale Masonic Hall. As Soulandy has mentioned there has been soul here before. Around 15 years ago in conjunction with Altrincham Festival, myself. Mark ‘Roscoe’ Robinson & Geoff Allman put a Northern Soul/Motown one-off night on and we maxed the venue out. We never firmed up any future dates because I was still running and behind the decks at Sale Oakfield Club.......Good luck to you all who are organising this event going forward I am sure you will have great well attended nights here....Just one point to mention though. When we did that one night the club had a ‘decibel’ meter that cut the power to the stage area if the music was played too loud which was a constant pain in the backside with start/stop if the music went above a certain loudness. However this may not be in place these days.

Thanks Graham, I used to go to the sale masonic Hall  (well as couple of times ) when my good friend and stopfordian Ian Obeng ran it, I also went to the Oakfield regularly, great venue shame they demolished it, had some great times there.

 It took Paul and myself a long time, several years in fact, to find a suitable place after we left the Festival Hall in Alderley Edge.

The Cinnamon Club has it all,  a fantastic venue & a large ballroom with a sprung dance floor, great sound system, this is just the start of what will be a a fantastic Northern Soul venue.

Hi Steve, unfortunately I will not be able to make your first night due to other commitments however I will definitely be at your second night......I grew up with Ian’s brother Jerry Obeng from the age of 5 going to the same schools, collages, work etc including visits to Wigan and stuff. I am sure that we may have possibly met at some point. My nickname was ‘Herby’ for my sins lol. On your second night I will make a point of introducing myself to you and bring Jerry along too. Good luck for tonight it will be a ‘sell-out’
