Friday 21st February 2020 sees the next event at the Ukrainian Club in Ashton-Under-Lyne.
If you want a ‘proper’ soul night, to hear great records and something a little bit different from DJs without egos, then the Ukrainian Club could be the venue for you.
The music policy is still true to Brian Lester and Chris Churm’s original goals, with the focus on rarer and underplayed records. There will be records you know and love along with rarer, less frequently played oldies (all on original vinyl…no boots here) but we hope that there will be a few tracks on any given evening that will be new to you and that you’ll enjoy.
The aims are unchanged, they are simple, and they are to give you a thoroughly enjoyable evening by:
1) Playing you an evening of great soul records
2) Selecting these records with the emphasis on quality
3) Playing original vinyl only
4) Bringing you quality guest DJs
The venue itself is well-suited to a rarer event, with a nicely-sized room, a great dancefloor and a separate chill-out/lounge area. We’ll be continuing with the proven format of bringing you two, or sometimes three, hand-picked guests per event.
Brian will usually confirm the guest DJs a little closer to the time.

The venue is just across the road from the Shell petrol station and whilst the car park is only small there's plenty of parking on the residential streets behind the venue.
Doors open at 7:30pm and the event runs until half past midnight. Entrance is a snip at £4.00.
