Bury Town Hall Virtual Allnighter

This Online Soul Event event has now ended

Event Information

Event Type: Online Soul Event

Event Date & Time:

Event Description

The COVID-19 measures have left the Rare Soul scene littered with cancelled events and the faithful following home alone at the weekends; so the Bury Town Hall team have decided to launch a ‘virtual’ all-nighter. The show will be broadcast over internet radio every Saturday while we’re under lockdown from 21:00 until the early hours of Sunday morning.

The format will be just like a real event with a selection of DJs from previous and upcoming all-nighters at Bury Town Hall selecting their spots, carefully in order, from actual records they own to keep it real.

You can join us at https://www.radioking.com/radio/soulallniter

...and we also hope to be posting links for use with iTunes, Windows Media Player, Winamp, Real Player & Quick Time in the near future.
We hope you enjoy the show and it goes some way to filling the void and lifting your spirits

Well the first one went unbelievably well,a bit of fine tuning will ensure another thing of quality and in troubled times for most if not all of us a point of focus to blow off the cobwebs with the best music in the world, what's not to like!!

Very much looking forward to this.

Not sure my bank balance will stand it though, my 'wants' list grew rapidly during the first broadcast and I can't see this being any different.  Les Harrison always costs me £ when I listen to him as he is invariably a bad influence with his choice of 45s....naughty Les!

Many thanks to all involved.

I find myself in full agreement, 2nd All Nighter brewing, brilliant line up, I know some devastating music is on the way, 8 hours of the Beautiful Music ahead, do your mates a favour text or email them to let them know that the lads are on wherever they live, do it now, Bury goes international and rightly so!

You don't want to know,or probably already do,how we have improvised to add to the authenticity.Home made mics et al. But Simon's technical skills with the soft ware is something to marvel at and Pete I reckon a career with Radio 2 beckons, very polished mate!!

Wave after wave of brilliant music and really varied, you're right about the chat Mick it really was absorbing found it difficult just to go and get a cup of tea, fast pace banter and  everyone lovin it. Seeing what the tunes were as they were playing was so interesting. Definitely the perfect antidote. Feel great today like I've been out and had flippin brilliant time with loads of fab people. The show itself came down the wires brilliantly and sounded like a pro had put it together, thats 2 shows in and in the space of 10 days, somehow for 8 hours we had no cares in the world,  just superb work Simon. And a big 👍 to all the DJs. Right I'm off out for a dance this morning, I mean walk. Next week, can't wait!

Yes mate, as for me and lunatics ain't the 1st time. Proud to call them friends especially you head lunatic. Simon has put hours of work in to this and will continue. MORE DJS SHOULD step up and offer there services it's just giving back to the scene and what makes it special.

Take care mate 👍

Hiya mate,

This was a great idea of Simon's.  Hilarious that he now works 40 hours a week on it preparing for each week - We may be able to 'furlough' him if we don't tell anyone he's working from home :D

He had the idea whilst walking his dog one morning, and rang me....."Lenny, two questions 1) A weekly Virtual All-nighter yes or no? 2) Will you put together a DJ spot for it at some point?"........"Hi Simon, cracking idea yes and yes of course, but I need to get used to what's happening first as I need to get in the zone if putting tunes together"......

He hasn't spoken to me since :D

Ref the DJs - I think there's lots of us who are planning to put sets together for this project, and we want to do a good job.

It's been a really good start, especially with how quickly it was put together to lift all our spirits.

All the best,

Len

Len. That was so eloquently put it brought a little tear to my eye.😪 The dog walking Simon. . He should be on a leash sometimes 🤔. I've just had a virtual whip round for all the DJ,s and Simon owes us £5.99 each 🤣
