Bury Town Hall Virtual Allnighter

Definitely hats off to Simon and bury team, sorry for spat with Nigel should of bit especially after he was same last week but shouldn't of bite so my humblest apologies. Winsford Soul what a great spot and Rob Messer was outstanding. Gis what can you say top draw mate. Mick howard can't remember hearing a bad spot from u full stop and Baz and Jordan great night looking forward to next week. Best behavior I promise

Hope everyone is well. Musically brilliant and knitted together superbly I thought, sounded absolutely fab.  Loved the sets, Great request spot from Simon playing some blinders and set the standard for the night, Steves set was blistering, just one set after another of pure soul heaven from all the Gentlemen. Regulars & Guest DJs awesome, thank you Simon for an excellent night once more, just gets better each time. Great that we can all do a bit and be involved

I manage to get to Bury just as 'the doors' opened, and where Simon was entertaining us with the a warm up set of pre-requests until 8pm. I knew that I wouldn't be able to 'stay' for the entire night, and had to leave just as @Mick Howard began his vinyl offerings (sorry Mick.. and to the other DJ's I missed !!). When Steve Smith @Winsford Soul took over the reins for the ensuing 60 minutes he succeeded in playing selections that took me back to my formative teenage soul years.. making me a youngster again for well over half of his set.. Thanks for that Steve  Baz Maleedy followed with selections of some of the finest soul music to grace the planet.. totally awesome !! Then, just when you think it couldn't possibly get any better - up pops Essex Legend Rob Messer. He manged to produce the best spot I've ever witnessed of his.. disc after disc of nothing but class soul 45's, including the likes of Johnny Summers, Johnny Robinson, Paramount Four, Guitar Ray, The Jades on Mode.. Absolutely Superb !! 

I managed to enjoy another hour before the tasks of the following day meant I had to get my head down, and what better way to end my attendance than the up tempo platters offered by Jordan.. classic belters through to unissued Secret Stash recordings !!

So pleased I managed to 'make attendance' at lasts nights foray, and will defo be tuning in to experience next weeks episode.. Can't Wait !!

It must be an enviable task, putting together this weekly virtual Soul experience, and great credit is due to Simon, Baz, and Jordan, for taking the time and effort for the benefit of us virtual Children of The Night.. Thank You !! and thanks also to the DJ's each week that contribute their little vinyl discs for the pleasure of others.. 

Right.. I'm off to catch Keith Money's set from lat nights alternate virtual offering from Darn Sarf !! 

Thoroughly enjoyable mixture of quality soul music, I understand it takes a lot of time and effort to put this together, but it’s absolutely worth it, sounds professional, well put together and knowledgeable DJs sharing their passion commitment to us all. Well done, and thanks for making weekends something to look forward to!

Thanks John.  I'm humbled by the words , really am. goes to show that with a bit of thought that you can play a set of tunes that apart from a couple of expensive one nothing was over £30  and different from the normal stuff that I was known for playing. It was a privilege to be asked and im glad to hear that you and many others appreciated it. My personal favourite set of the night not taking anything away from all the DJ,s was Mr Rob Messers.  Take a bow, sublime records apart from the 2 R n B type tunes. Imho.

thank you guys   loved it even the music i didnt know  and there was a lot of that .    i managed 7.30 -2.30 then got tired 

when i hear a tune for the first time i cant always tell you instantly if i rate it as a soul record  i would want to dance to or to listen to  i might need a few listens to get it !

Might dip my toe in again

I must say that the music was first class last night. A great mix played by all the D.Js and  lots of tunes I hadn't heard before which I enjoyed listening to. I really do appreciate all the time and effort that goes into putting this together to keep us entertained in these strange times. Hats off to all involved at Bury for brightening our Saturdays. Looking forward to tuning in for the next one.

2021 Bury World Tour announced!

Once again, a superb night of entertainment, great on the ears in the midst of a classy virtual crowd, and very well presented!

Keep up the excellent work, which does greatly help in maintaining a sense of normality in these abnormal times.....You are all a credit to our musical taste, and I applaud you all !

"See you" next Saturday......I for one can't wait!
