About The Event

The COVID-19 measures have left the Rare Soul scene littered with cancelled events and the faithful following home alone at the weekends; so the Bury Town Hall team have decided to launch a ‘virtual’ all-nighter. The show will be broadcast over internet radio every Saturday while we’re under lockdown from 21:00 until the early hours of Sunday morning.

The format will be just like a real event with a selection of DJs from previous and upcoming all-nighters at Bury Town Hall selecting their spots, carefully in order, from actual records they own to keep it real.

The station is up and running if anyone wants a backing track to their day folks - see you all at 7pm for the All-Request hour and don't forget our very own Becket (Tom Howard) starring in his own right at 10pm.

I think there was about 26 requests this week - Amazing how many tunes can be played in a set (Baffles me)

Hi Mick,

Yes 'SERVICEMEN - I'LL STOP LOVING YOU' is amazing isn't it? You played it at some point if I remember correctly.

The DJ's challenge is to be able to follow the request spot :D

Evening Len, Good to see you👍

Like-wise Pete.....'Bobby Paris - Night Owl' one of your requests currently playing. Incidentally, this record was one of my very first......I was fixing my scooter, and this bloke walked past, stopped......."F*ck me is that a Lambretta?"......"Yes".......We got chatting as you do.  The very next day when I returned home from School there was a pile of records on my door step from the bloke, which included 'Bobby Paris - Night Owl', along with 'Betty Boo - Say It Isn't So', ' Otis Smith - Let Her Go, and (Believe it or not) 'The Parisians - Twinkle Little Star', amongst others (About 40 records)

I hadn't heard records like this before, and I played them over and over again, especially 'Betty Boo - Say It Isn't So'........And that is when I started record collecting.

N.B - I've just worked out how they manage to play 'so many' records in one hour! :D
