Bury Town Hall Virtual Allnighter Special

There will be a brand new Bury Virtual All-Nighter on the last Saturday of every month until the soul scene live events are back up and running again. Each Saturday in-between we will be presenting Bury Town Hall Reloaded which will feature a selection of sets from previous shows chosen by the Soul Source listeners along with the now-famous Soul Source All-Requests hour from 7pm.

Join us in the chatroom at www.radioking.com/radio/soulallniter

This week will be a special feature where we let our devoted listeners loose on the virtual decks, pulling together sets from their favouite rare soul and the Bury catalogue - looks set to be another night of pure quality and the Bury Town Hall Team extend our thanks to them.

So looking forward to this night. There will be no internet interruptions and i can abuse the fellow creatures of the night without fear of not been able to reply when they rip the piss out of me. Plus there,s going to be some very special ( needs ) people playing a few tunes that i know will be worth listening too because they have better taste in music than they have in friends ( me ) 😜

Greetings Everyone

The Bury VAN has been a big inspiration to all us who are used to going to Nighters and Soul Nights around the country ,indeed i have learned so much since the Lockdown ,so much that i broke the missis who said she couldn handle it anymore !!  LOL All that Skreetchy music was too much for her   Thought of Richard Free when       it was going off by the way as his missis doesnt like him going to Disco,s on his own to use his words They just dont get it .!!!!!

This week changes everything     I said to the Boss very early in this madness Everyone wants to be a DJ or a Promoter and this week you lot are taking the controls        having had the opportunity to have a peek it is probably the best nighter ive ever been to Musically That is a big statement considering we have such magicians as Baz M ,Simon Ingham and Lenny etc .

Soulman 58 has changed the goalposts with his choices which brings us  Soulful House of the highest Order .Massive thanks mus go to Pete C for his tireless work and Simon Ingham who joins the dots so professionally every session .That Soulful House Room At Bury was a wonderful place it added so much flavour to the Legendary Kenwood Suite and Main Room Floor Fillers .But my friends this is just the beginning we have all contributed so much positive energy ,time empathy and it represents what this scene has always been about for me ,its the people who make the venues so good  .I m so grateful everyone has shared there experiences in this wonderful scene

i will be driving home from Oxford so will be unable to be in the chat room Apologies for that i need the work guys Have a great week everyone

Much Love To All

Thanks for the praise Martin, however, this should go to the various DJs over the week's who have turned me on to the sounds.  In a way this week is some of us showing our appreciation for the effort the DJs, Simon, Pete etc have put in.  The weirdest thing is I haven't been to a nighter/club night in eons, however, I have always had what I consider to be an ear for quality soul in all of it's guises. and know what I would have danced to.  I am especially grateful to Pete C for mentioning the B Van nights, just wish I'd been there from week 1.

I've got to say I totally agree with Soulman58 .

Simon and the Bvan crew, Baz, Jordan, Martin L. and Pete-c and all the djs from the very first night during the Lockdown . What a great idea and over 6 months later due to the Covid situation still going strong .I also due to work and family commitments hav'nt step foot in a venue for years,  kept on collecting and in contact locally,  but intrigued by the first flyer on soul source decided to listen in and glad I did .

Old friends, new friends and a great atmosphere in the chatroom even on autopilot as , was the case last night brilliant.

I know that when things get back to normal the Bvan will probably end and the real thing back up and running as it should be , so until then I'll be there every weekend , and hopefully for real sometime soon. This week the 17th promises to be another great night not to be missed.

I have to say that (with producers privilage) this Saturday 17th October is shaping up to be a real cracker!

- it's fantastic to see the BVAN faithful still pulling together in the same direction after 30 weeks of lockdown (with now over 50,000 listeners) and the opportunity for some of the listeners and chatroom regulars to mount the virtual stage and share their music has generated a great night of music 🎶

Hats off to you all and I'm looking forward to what will undoubtably be a busy night in the chatroom

As Tom says, Really looking forward to Tomorrow, and moreover I'm honoured to have "gotten my nose in", for an half hour amongst the Soul Source regulars.....Furthermore, I cannot credit BVAN enough for numerous reasons, namely the continuous hard work put in to bring us such Great Music, from the regular virtual DJ roster/guests, and the superb "production team" , also for furthermore enlightening me personally to the incredible in-depth quality sub-genres of an awesome musical "experience".....Bring on Saturday......It can't come quick enough!

wilxy

PS..... bring on the Vaccine, I want to witness Bury all-nighters in person......

Can I just say that I was surprised and honoured that I was asked to pick 12 tunes that are "new to me" for this Saturday. Most are new as I don't readily recognise them but there are one or two that I do and I've tried to pick a good mix that I've heard over this past 7 months from the various DJ's and the request hour. I don't own any of the tunes as I'm not a collector, although like most of us I do have a small box of records but nothing out of the ordinary. I love hearing a lot of the new things that BVAN has thrust upon us so I'll dedicate my choices to everyone involved putting all this together and the DJ"s for the great mix of music that makes Saturday nights a lot more bearable in the current climate. I hope my selections are OK and that we can all meet in person next year and have a real night but in the meantime lets all enjoy this virtual night with a beer and a chat.

Thanks again

Andy

I kind of forgot the theme "New To Me " because at 63 it's so I've been told an age thing. Anyway 12 tunes hand picked from a collection from youth club days to the Man cave ( all on vinyl,  so back off the soul police 👮 LOL), and still growing weekly , I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed picking them .

I know things haven't been easy infact bloody awful ,  and the Bvan team managed to bring a bit of normality ,something to look forward to on a weekend when nothing else was possible due to the Lockdown and it's looks like things are slipping back to Lockdown or very close , so is this the new normal , if so Simon what a bloody great idea may it continue until things get back to normal ,and thanks also to the Bvan crew and chat room regulars "keep on keeping on "

Same here I’ve been collecting records for 35 years on and off, so my selection, from my boxes, hopefully has a few that either passed under the radar or haven’t been heard for some time.

Just to echo what has been said before, BVAN has made the past months more tolerable for me. Thanks to Simon and the BVAN crew plus all the DJs over the past weeks for making Saturday nights so enjoyable. Hope you enjoy them.

At a similar age I'm looking forward to this set to see how it moves through time, as I took the easy option as the bulk of my set are tunes which were new to me with a few others added on, including one I picked  up for 10p.
