BURY TOWN HALL VIRTUAL ALL-NIGHTER

The BURY TOWN HALL VIRTUAL ALL-NIGHTER keeps rolling on, we bring you in all their glory, Live on MIXCLOUD and RADIO KING, the BVAN DJ team that’s been entertaining you since the first Saturday, of the first lockdown in March 2020!

This weeks offerings, in celebration of 12 months since the first show, will spotlight the best of the music brought to you by the Bury Town Hall resident DJs plus a VERY SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE from none other than Richard Searling (thanks Richard).

Well we celebrated the 1st anniversary in fine style,with bumper audience figures on mixcloud and rightly so!! The music was off the scale,it just got better and better.

Great set from Richard Searling with some jaw dropping exclusives!! In the nicest possible way, hope we're not celebrating another BVAN anniversary and we can be out and about in the venue!!

A great night until I fell asleep about midnight, looking FWD to trying to find out what I missed and track down tracks that are new to me.  

I would like to take this opportunity to say eternal thanks to Simon and all the DJs who have rekindled my love with all things soulful during these strange times.

Best night in ages, music was unreal and Richard's spot tick all the boxes and as for not playing the b side of the acetate was funny 😂. Great banter in chatroom and bumper listeners. Love it hats of the Simon and the team for putting it together you should be proud. 👍

The bar was set high from the outset, and TBH, the whole night will take some beating ! Incredible eclectic selection of Soul Music, that would have taken the roof off within a real venue!!! I woke up today buzzing with the feelgood factor, and considering enjoyment in general has been at a premium during this dreadful pandemic and lockdown, it is with sincere gratitude to the Bury crew, for making the "BVAN", the "musical vehicle" of escapism on such a regular basis!

You are a credit to the Soul Community, and I salute you!

Yeh nice one Mick.  This type of tune is nothing like what I generally play, but I really love stuff like this - As has been touched upon, the soul music was such a great mix.

Room 3 at Bury branded as 'Something Else' was in the main a showcase for 'Soulful Garage' or simply newer release, uptempo soul music. AKA 21st Century Soul, this music should and could be part of the scene and maybe one of the elements that could bring an influx of new, younger punters into venues... 

If there's enough interest, I'd be happy to drop a few examples into one of the BVAN shows as I'm sure would Pete C, it might be a welcome alternative to Latin 😉😆

Not sure about everyone else but i'd be up for an alternative evening.  Could go completely across the board, sweet, deep, funky, jazzfunk, mainstream soul, but that might be too much for some or just post 79.  It might even bring Chalky out of retirement again, which would be an added bonus.

Neil. Len always plays in the Alternative state of mind room 🤔🤣🤣🤣. 

Something else at Bury was  worth a visit. Some interesting tunes played.  Not all to my taste to be honest but nonetheless worth a visit ☺
