Looking forward to this, where it all started for me, Chartbusters Vol 4 was my first self paid for LP.  Got Vol 3 2 weeks later.

My First album was the Motown disco classics volume 2 with poster, quickly followed by volumes 3 and 4 and Ric-tic relics about 74 all from a very meagre Apprentice wage, they where a quick way of collecting and didn't cost a fortune

Volume 3 is as good as any compilation out there.  Its only the fact that the LP was played to death and they are so familiar that it hasn't hit the turntable in eons, but that is down to my stupidity!!

Was there a decision made about the inclusion of subsidiary labels... VIP, Gordy, Soul etc?

The consensus all over the world of music is, Berry Gordy didn't want to flood the radio stations with too many releases on one label, so he gave different labels to different artists ,so the secret is out, it's all really Motown anyway, fill your boots folks,

The early UK labels prior TMG. included Ste mate lol,

Hi Dave/Martin

Just realised that I have selected "Destination Anywhere"  which was on Winsford's set.  If you haven't started playing with things already already can you replace this with - Gladys & Pips - Just Walk In My Shoes.

Many thanks

Neil
