Baz, Am I right in thinking Sam's on in both rooms.

Yes Mate, he specifically asked to do a set in the Northern room as well as the Modern room, as he's kept many of his 'landmark' tunes from Wigan, Cleethorpes etc. and those great nights at the 'SAINTS' club in St Helens, where he used to try out his latest 'acquisitions', many of which became monster tunes on the scene...

I was just thinking back to a conversation I was having at the Blackpool Mecca one Saturday night in the 70's, and Soul Sam's latest sound was brought into the conversation, I was asked if I'd heard Lada Edmund Jnr "The Larue",  no was my answer, you need to hear it he said. Well as it happened there was an all dayer at Whitchurch Civic the next day and guess who was on. so a car full of us went down there. He played it and I certainly wasn't disappointed, in fact I still love it to this day. Okay I don't expect him to still have it let alone want to play it. (He's certainly not short of Sam first plays) but I just thought I'd tell the story. I'll give it a spin myself if that's ok.

The brilliant new Kim Tibbs 7" single was due to be released in time for the last Culcheth modern room, thankfully it's now available.

A modern soul masterpiece and dancefloor destroyer if that's possible. Listen here.

Got spins in the Modern Room on test press via Pete Ratcliffe as part of our early doors (first hour), new vinyl sessions where we showcase as many of the new vinyl releases being made available, Kim Tibbs being a VERY HOT TIP!

More to follow THIS SATURDAY as well as Souls Sam's current MODERN ROOM MONSTERS.... Get In

If you fancy some Johnny James on a big sound system then it has to be Culcheth this Saturday night 4th June

Butch's old Terrible Tom c/u. You'll need your best dancing shoes on for this one.

When John Weston dropped the needle on The Spindles "Ten shades of Blue" last Friday at Sue's memorial do & It sounded fantastic through Baz's massive sound system, thankfully I was standing chatting at the back of the hall and got the full effect, and so did the busy dancefloor. One for tonight.
