For me it's got to be Mr Mike Hanks!!! The man behind some of my favourite labels... Wheelsville, D-Town, Premium Stuff, Wheel City, Mah's, Wee 3 and Tuba!

Cheers,

Rich.

P.S Agree with Christian B on Richard 'Popcorn' Wylie! Great producer!!!

I love those Teddy Randazzo productions where the verses are pretty sparse then the chorus comes absolute crashing in.  A bit like Nirvana and the Pixies.

Don't think I could whittle it down to three. As well as those already mentioned there's people like Ollie Mcloughlin, Jimmy Wisner, Robert Banks, HB Barnum, all that Chicago stuff from Carl Davis and Willie Henderson...

And then there are the Arrangers too. Think about the contribution to this thing we call Northern Soul by guys like Arthur Wright and the kickass sound of Miles Grayson. That's just a few from the top of my head. good thread though

Luther Dixon, Van McCoy (I've just discovered the flip of Toni Lamarr's 'Just In The Nick Of Time') and Thom Bell. I'll give you three more when the IPA wears off.

Can't argue with the above Ady but some would probably associate Thom Bell with the 70's (Stylistics, Spinners) rather than the 60's when he worked most notably with the Delfonics...
